    a BIG thank you.

everyone who saw the horrific sights of 15 great danes that a breeder had left to starve to death[3already] in pathum tani must have shed a tear.
but great news for them is that his majesty the KING OF THAILAND has rescued all of them.
A BIG BIG THANK YOU on behalf of all dog lovers and pray that they all recover.
    HH.DOG LOVER.

Some fucking idiot on our muu baan bought a pair of Great Dane dogs as puppies here from a local breeder. Thought they'd breed them and sell the pups, etc.

One of the dogs went banzai and attacked the guy's missus, the other one had dodgy hips and back legs that wouldn't support it's own weight. Oops.

People that buy dogs as indicators of social status really shouldn't be allowed to have them. Or breed them. Or breed full stop, tbh.

With you on that, most breeds have specific issues, we were lucky, never had that problem but hip dysplasia is common in large breeds esp great danes. For any large or medium-large breeds check out both parents' and if either has a high score move on to another breeder or breed.

Or maybe don't buy but rescue?
As there are so many dodgy breeders here, I tend to think that mixed races would be more healthy, unless as advised you do your homework

But, they do know sales lines, the bottom line and how to make a buck. Puppy mills are alive and well and its quite distressing to see folks buying a pedigree pet for their precious child when there are a slew of prime candidates begging for rescue at the shelters.

Nowhere near as odd as trying to draw a parallel between dog breeds and humans / racism.

Weimaraners and boxers are as dumb as a teaspoon and border collies are as smart as pigs but we can’t say that Singapore kids are smarter than kids from Equatorial Guinea.
    Because it’s not true. Apparently.

A certain Thai lady in my life (whose name shall not be mentioned) was somewhat like a red setter. Lovely personality, and very good-looking....but not too much upstairs.

Exactly. Most pedigree dogs are autistic by design. Bred for purposes long ago, that don't apply anymore; hunting, fighting, herding, etc.
The best dogs I've ever had are mutts, intelligent, healthy, great for guarding the house, great with kids, etc. Wouldn't want a pedigree dog, tbh.
