    Apocalypse Now Final Cut

I just bought two tickets to my local IMAX. One of the best ever films.

you know what that's a good call. Not the cinema but the film and genre. Like me phone is old so is my method of film "Consumption" as they say - i use dvds. I'm going to get some war movies for me collection.

agreed Apocalypse is a great film

Full Metal Jacket comes to mind.
I've Tora Tora Tora in the collection. I watched it as a child and was fascinated with the planes.

Allways liked McHale's Navy. MASH was popular as well. Thinking back they really pumped us full of the " Patriot" stuff back in the day.

One of my all time favorite movies. Have had the three or four DVD collector's edition disc set for years. But can't find the damn thing...

Made The Doors song, The End, damn near a mystical experience.

I actually haven't seen any of those movies mentioned above.

I have, however seen the Cuckoo's Nest one.

And the Britan's bouncing bomb one where they blew up the Dams.

    ---

So, is 'The Final Cut' a new movie, a digitally remastered version of the old one or a 'Directors Cut'?
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

Could be worse. Could be French.

‘Why are there so many avenues in France ?’
’So the Germans can march in the shade’.

’How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris ?’
’Nobody knows - they’ve never done it alone’.

But regarding AN - should it still not be watched while tripping ?

Since it appears the thread is being forced off topic I will clarify something. The US has never been militarily defeated by any nation state. The US defeated Iraq in a few days toppling Saddam. It did not lose the insurgency that came afterwards either and the US is still in Afghanistan as well so that surely can not be considered a loss either. I should also remind you lot that the UK fought in both Iraq and Afghanistan alongside the Americas so would you say that you lost as well? If that is what you are inferring.

It may have strategically lost in Vietnam but it won every major battle in that war. The US military is the best in the world. Period.

Many people on this forum are ignorant and do not have clear grasp on fact or history.

My comments do not intend to infer that I supported any of those wars so those of you who intend to call me a warmonger can piss off. This was a thread about a movie until the Asshole Taxi came in and dragged it off topic repeating a tired old chestnut.

The US are pretty shit at wars these days, they'd be better off staying at home. Cheaper too.

Here's a brilliant war film that sums America up.
