    I Had A Dream...

    ...not really.

I was drinking wine last night and thinking about having some punters over to watch the rugby today and how we'd manage with all the rugrats in tow and then it occurred to me it would be cool if I had a screen by my bar to watch the rugby on as pictured in this highly technical rendering:

So this morning I awoke and got myself off to the store to purchase all the necessary bits and pieces and I've just finished putting it up and am rather chuffed with the result:

    Got B900 discount also!

Tested and works but I don't know how to post vids so never mind.

Doubtless this will somehow make Smeg, taxi, Prancer & Co. even more angry and upset with my garden wall or something and conclude that I'm a narcissist but I don't give a fuck I'm off to watch the rugby and drink a bit more idea-giving alcohol.

    Cheers!

    Very good.

The price of UHD TVs have really come down in the last year.

I presume you'll be adding plastic casing for the cables to run down the pillar.

What do you have it connected up to?

I run mine to a PC with 5.1 surround sound system and then live stream/torrent/netflix whatever's on.

Nice one Ant. I admire a man that can turn his dreams into reality.
Yo may be able to snake a power lead from your lighting system and place an outlet right next to the support beam just above the TV. I'm guessing the toung and groove is at a right angle to the underlying rafters that they are affixed to.

Just an Idea that may be worth looking into.

    Oh, and enjoy the games.

I'll give you two thumbs up for having the vision.

I take it you're going to move the BBQ when you next use it.

Otherwise I predict it will all end in tears.

I took a closer look and it's not tongue and groove so it is fairly easy to remove a piece of that wood heading towards the ceiling fan. If the fan is hot all the time, ie you use a pull chain to turn it on you have a source of power. If the fan is controlled by a switch you'll have a source regardless.

Just an idea, good luck with whatever you decide. Plug it in and set it on the bar for that matter depending on how soon the game starts.

Have a beer for me, cheers.

And imagine how all the neighbours will be so thankful to get free the excited expressions at every goal... (as generally known, they are - the Thai people - very cautious not to disturb around, aren't they?)

    Thank you chaps.

Yes I'll tidy up the cables in due course it really was a last evening / do today effort and had the punters coming so no time for that yet.

Working well, just Chrome casting for now:

Oh dear, that vision is going to trigger a few angry responses.
    Lucky it wasn't the shed.

Is This is the Chiang Mai TD "mafia" ( Some posters are above TD law) running/ruining the forum?

I guess your team did not do too very well because all your friends seem to be red faced. or perhaps they are pissed off because you hung all the beer from the ceiling and they had to jump up and down trying to get to it, LOL

Excellent Idea, I have a similar area under the house that would like to do something similar when I have more time when I retire next year (still working and bouncing all over the world).
I love your patio furniture, hope to find something similar, and really love the wood on the ceiling, mine is all concrete and plasterboard concrete ceiling and it has a bit of an echo. With your permission I saved a copy of your picture to show the contractor about the wood ceiling.Any more info concerning the wood ceiling would be appreciated.

Look a nice place you've got there, Ant. Having somewhere like that to sit and watch the football while burning things on the BBQ and knocking back the ale would never see me leave the house at the weekend though. I'd be about 20 stone.
