Loved Canada parades as a kid. My grandfather was in the city pipe band. To this day the sound and pomp of a pipe band makes me remember the excitement we kids had on Canada Day.

I spent a good 8 years in Alberta, sang "Oh Canada" at my citizenship ceremony and of course every Saturday night with the ice hockey crowd. Great place then, sure it still is.

Initially Calgary city suburbs and moved out to the sticks, various rural route "acreages". First to Calgary's east. flat prairies coyotes, hawks, jackrabbits and swallows; then to the south west, the Rocky Mountains foothills, eagles, coyotes, bears, deer and moose were are fauna.
