^ South west of Calgary is nice.

^^^^^^ Hinton and Edmonton, I lived in fort Mac for a while. Good money... but, its fort Mac. Last house I had was in Maple creek Sask. Always looked the Cypress hills. Previous to that had a shop In Sicamous BC, loved it. When real estate went crazy I sold out and moved back to the prairies. Born and raised in Regina.
A bit of a transient life lived in Vernon Kelowna Whitehorse Hudson Bay The Pas etc etc The Okanagan was always paradise to me.

Hey Pickle! How are things with you? Hope all good wherever you may be these days.
Saskatoon one of the better cities in Sask. Passed though many times as a kid on the way to Waskesiu Lake summer holidays.

Never been there although I've heard many good reports of which many have preferred it to the USA. I generally avoid areas with cold climates so have probably missed some worthwhile places but I cant go everywhere so I may at least be in my version of comfortable weather.

Lots of rain and fog along that coast

"British Columbia receives considerable precipitation, but its distribution is far from ideal. Some coastal towns have average annual rainfalls of 160 inches (4,100 mm) or more (among the wettest regions on the continent), while Merritt, only 125 miles (200 km) from the coast, registers only 12.5 inches (320 mm). Victoria, sheltered by the Vancouver Island mountains, receives less than 35 inches (885 mm), but Vancouver, 72 miles (116 km) across the Strait of Georgia, receives 47 inches (1,200 mm), delivered by the winds crossing that body of water."

    Not quite Trat Provincethough

You've never heard Canadians howl under a silver moon, up to your knees in winter snow, naked after a sauna + few too many whiskeys then?

    Hi Eso,

So there are a few old timers still kicking about on here.. Good to see. I trust things are well with you. Still down California way.

I had been feeling quite unwell for a stretch of time but do to my not much liking the medical profession I had avoided any local medical resources. I can be damn stubborn. I reached a point where I was hardly able to get up in the morning, I had no appetite and my guts were in revolt most of the time. My legs and feet were in constant pain from Diabetic Neoropathy.

All the good times had disappeared from my dismal existance.

One morning I reached a point where I knew I could either die or phone an ambulance. I was taken up to the local hospital where I was expecting to be issued some pills , given some foot cream and discharged. Instead I was transferred to the regional hospital over in Kelowna (back to the Okanagan).

I was diagnosed with severe septicemia and was told my leg would have to come off below the knee. I was alos told I had about a seventy percent chance of coming out the other end. And then family and relatives started to arrive.(depressing). Anyway, on my way to the operating teatre I suffered a mild heart attack so the procedure was delayed. Heart tested were done and mine was found to be weak and the decision was made to cut above the knee. My chances of emerging out the other side were lessened.

Anyway I did emerge and here I am four months later a bit the worse for wear but still feeling pretty damn good about life in general.

Now aren't you glad you asked?

Hope you and the family are well. Is your nephew still kicking around on here.

Yes, I'm not intending to fade out. I plan to go out in a blaze when that time comes.

    See you Eso.

Well done to you and Canadian health care.

Alive and well, living in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

    Take care.
