I think back to some of the stunts we pulled at school and wonder how the victims must have felt at the time. Thank fuck social media wasn't around back then.

The smelly kid in class who got the piss took out of him could go home at the end of the day and close the doors on it until the next day. She never could; it's there 24/7 with Facebook etc.

What with the anonymity available online it seems to be much much worse these days too. We were kids and we were often twats, but I don't recall ever being as ruthless as some of the comments you read about these days.

Well it seems she did some online bullying herself.

But I don't think that's what this article is really about.

It's about no-one picking up on a fucking psychopath.

My ex once told me about a weird kid at her school who used to try and play with the girls and they would always avoid him.

When he was 17 he tortured, raped and killed an 11 year old girl.

That was back in the 70's.

And they still can't spot teenage head cases, because no-one believes children are capable of such acts until they do it, and even then it's forgotten by most people soon after the headlines have faded.

Don't think that was the case unless I've missed it. All of the articles I've read said she was bullied mercilessly & even her school councillor was terrified of her going to secondary school, reported on a podcast I listened to last night from a court reporter.

You're right, I misread it.

She set up fake accounts and sent bullying messages to herself.

re: what you were saying about the teenage nutcases, this is a long read but gives you a bit of an insight into the two boys.

One wonders when the perpetrators are given every opportunity and total anonymity yet poor Anna their victim had her life exposed for all to see. The parallels with the Bolger case and the protection of the perpetrators is staggering.
