I think I'm gonna piss off to Philipinz next year

Home is not friendly anymore and I'm moving out to a condo.

While I keep piling up cash I will be contemplating a move to Manila. I absolutely need infrastructure and it looks like BGC is the closest thing to Bangkok.

Maybe I can get friendlies with Snub, to show me around and stuff.

What a shit year so far.

    Good luck with that

Wear a helmet until you're out. Don't want to see any more photos of nasty gashes in your noggin.

I've been living in BGC for the last 2 years and just signed a lease for another 5 years.
Before that I lived in Makati for 2 years.

I'm pretty happy here in BGC.
Internet isn't real fast, but it is reliable, and I need reliability for work, more than up/down speeds.

Condo is pretty good, nice pool that TizShe & I swim laps every lunchtime.

Close by are lots of bars & restaurants, 3 full sized shopping malls within walking distance, SM Aura, Uptown Mall & Market! Market!, and also 3 more slightly smaller malls, Forbestown, One Bonifacio High Street and High Street Central Square.

Beggars get run out of town.

I’ve enjoyed a few good long vacations in Philippines. Sadly, once you leave the CBD in Manila, the extreme poverty hits you like a brick wall.
Having said that, there are some nice places away from the madness and traffic issues that dominate the metropolis.

You could do a comparison to living in the sandpit, I'm sure the readers would be fascinated by your life and what they could gain and experience by spending a decade + in the sandpit trapped in a condo scared to venture out. Go for it, start a thread life of simple Sybil for a decade in the sandpit, sure to be a page Turner.

I see off-topic flaming, something you claim to despise, takes up 90% of your posts these days.

What a gormless, laughable hypocrite you are, drinking on your own again in your crappy, soulless Crewe hutch.

Aaannnddd I signed up for a typical 31sqm condo.

It's still pretty amazing what $350 a month can get you in this country.

You wouldn't last five minutes there.

You'd be paying out 500 bucks for gaviscon per week.

For us non philipinos can someone interpret BGC. I am considering going for a look later in the year as there is a work opportunity percolating and it would be an easy plane trip to Bangkok from Manila.

Bonifacio Global City. A fairly new, upscale, part of Manila heavily populated by foreigners.

Yeah. The place was fully furnished, but we decided to ask the owner to take some furniture out and replace it with our own.
So we didn't want to risk having to move too soon.
5 years will see me through to retirement, and also protects me from rental increases.

Tough place to live in my opinion.

Food - both in terms of Supermarkets and restaurant choice is way below quality & variety that you get in Thailand.

It's a lot more dangerous - both in terms of random acts of violence, kidnappings and the shit that can rain down on you if you piss off the wrong woman and she decides to accuse you of something to the polics.

FFS that would almost be as bad as life in Crewe.
