I believe mine originated in Jersey and Guernsey with a distant ancestor from Hereford.
I remember reading about Identical twins getting different results. At best it can only determine what continent you are from with any certainty.
Dutch. On the paternal side they were seafarers and through a website run by some far flung relative I can trace the family back to the 1400s.
My great grandfather was harboumaster at Paramaribo, Surinam.
That must have been a wild posting.
My father was born in Indonesia.
I have a 17th century Dutch Bible that's been handed down. Leather bound with silver locks. Very interesting.
“If we stop testing right now we’d have very few cases, if any.” Donald J Trump.
Interesting stuff Cujo. I hope you're not keeping that bible in the humidity of Thailand.
I work at sea and mum's side of the family has been maritime for yonks. Family legend says I had a great great something or other who was engaged to Grace Darling, until she got famous and dumped him.
I had a Great Uncle who worked up from AB to Master in the merchant navy in early 20th century. Unheard of then, and he was awarded the OBE in the Normandy Landings. I've gone as far as possible online but have no time to visit Kew, where the maritime records are kept.
It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi...

Half man half biscuit.
Are you the real Micheal Jackson ?

A bugger for the truth
True story. When young I asked my father if he'd like a fathers day card? Being a direct kinda guy he just replied 'The only person who knows who your father is is your mother'. Thinking about it now he is/was kinda right as you can only be sure who your mother is.
Got the results back last month.
12.5% Mont Claire.
Whats really bad about it, I can't even clean car parts with it or use as a weed killer. When someone brings a bottle over to the house when they come to hang out. They leave it and then I just toss it. Plus side, My FIL recycles glass. Of course if LuLu showed up he would bring the box shit and then its garbage all the way around...
Back on topic though, I am Sicilian and still have some family living in Ficarazzi I believe (Outside Palermo) My uncle did one of those family tree dealios years back and showed all of us.
What's interesting is if two of your ancestors come from quite different races, as this creates "hybrid vigour"....at least in the first generation.
If you go back 200 years you will have about 64 ancestors, and it just expands after that, by doubling every generation. However it's funny how in the paternal line (if you're male) physical features can be passed down. Though after all, the genes have to come from somewhere.
I was astonished when I looked into my family tree and found not one, but two convicts (amongst approximately 64 ancestors) who had been sent to Australia. One of them had stolen about 5 buttons and a thimble, the other a very expensive rifle. Previously I didn't suspect I had any...
