Ok, so I'll get a bit prickish.

You know you're average when you can no longer afford to live in your home country.

You know you are average when you concede to the masses.

I am distinctly average. Had a lucky career. Retired but couldn’t settle.

Found the grind for more money a little unsettling. Got divorced, put myself through uni. Became disillusioned, (and divorced) and moved to Thailand to live off my service pensions.

Am now averagely distinct. No social security, but still living from one pay day to the next.

For some reason, I can’t get overexcited about serious stuff. Life, Brexit and the future are passing by at an average speed.

Can you imagine anything more mediocre?

I like to participate on this "Average" thread unfortunately my Momma told me I was special!

Actually it doesn't suck to be average. That is all a state of mind Fish. I never understood people that compare themselves to others to establish where they fit in the social hierarchy.

Just live it.

Being average is a blessing. Who needs the hassle of insuring that luxury automobile, or the worry of losing it?

I agree. Live within your means. Financial independence and no debt go a long way in enjoying a quality life.

Still not really sure what Average means. Are we talking physical looks, Financial position, position at company, house they own etc. It really only matters if one is trying to compare.

I get you JPPR. Wait, let me clarify. I understand your last statement regarding cast and in so much as I realize like the topic of this thread that it is not so much as to what you have done or where you could be but as in my case doing what seems normal or the status quo.
