All Brittle musicians are bent as a dog's back leg. Name one that doesn't take it up the shitter.

Brittles have an additional queer gene.

Yep, all are gay, but they are great musicians.

Who do Yanks got? Adam fucking Lambert and Ricky Martin. Is Ricky Martin even American according to Trump?

Elton John is gay royalty in the UK these days.

Never liked him or his music even when he was still pretending to be straight, tbh.

I don't like him either ... but I do like some of his music.

    Ditto Madonna

You say that as if it may have made a difference.
I don't like his performance, but some of his songs are good.
Freddie Mercury, on the other hand, great performances and great singing and songs.

I won two primo tickets to see him play in Abu Dhabi.

    Gave them to a colleague.

Singing fake love songs to women, and even having a fake marriage to a woman marks him out as a erm,.. fake. Makes a difference in how I perceive him for sure.

Should've left them on your dash, someone would break your window to leave two more, then you could've insulted 4 people!

Yeah, sure, the person, but to be fair it was harder to come out in those days and one of the reasons was that regardless of how good an artist he was, it would have affected sales.
Not like that these days, I'm pretty sure.

    Whatever happend to Boy George?
    Tiny Tim?

^^ His missus did look decidedly glum the next day.

    Even by her standards.

I was reflecting on the previous comment though that a huge country like the US, which dominates movies and music worldwide, hardly seems to have any major stars who have come out.

So my guess is that the impact on sales is the reason, in the land of the free.

It was the 80's, and AIDS was in the headlines for sure. But as Elton was singing love songs addressed to women and undergoing a sham marriage, there were singers like Boy George, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, etc, who were openly gay and didn't give a fuck what people thought, or how it might affect sales / radio airtime.. Boy George went on to a successful career as a DJ after his band finished. Still doing very well, I think.

The Boy just before he went to prison. I suppose that can be considered "very well" for a Brittle.

    Old pic that, though.

I'd put up a newer one but who can be bothered to spend the time, really?

    Oh, well there's you obviously.

    Different generation though, eh?

    Reg was born in 1947.

Growing up gay in the '50s would have been a very different experience to doing so in the '70s.

...living overseas for most of my adult life, I'd never seen an EJ concert until vids became available...what I had was his songs and my imagination: a potent combination...

    You old romantic, you.
I suppose "brother" in Daniel was substituted for "lover"? (Ohhhh Daniel, my lover, you were older than me..)
And "Suzy" in Croc Rock was Steve? (Me and Stevey had so much fun...)
I dread to think what a candle in the wind was symbolic of.

what has he done in the last 20 years, apart from marrying a bloke and buying some kids? Should have died from AIDS like dear old Freddie and all those other famous poofs.
