How to live in the LoS for about $600./mo.

For various reasons, many long-term expats do not enjoy those $3,000.+/mo. pensions, enjoyed by the select few.

Thus, here is a video for those expats,...of whom,...are compelled to live in the real world ,...of the average majority.

    Happy New Year, 2019

Nope... didn't watch it but have seen a dozen or so similar videos - yes, you can live on the cheap in Thailand, up to you if the "lifestyle" provided is acceptable to your standards.

Quality of Life - for me it's on the order of @ USD 3k/mo.

Seems fine when younger but in old age one surprise medical expense could really put a spanner in the works. I think 1500-2000 is a safer amount to live on, not including medical insurance.

Ben - the "real world of the average majority" just don't include any Expats. The average majority stay at home and never venture outside of their "safe zone".

Where I was born and raised the big venture was the annual vacation to the Jersey shore. One rich family actually did vacation in Europe one year.

On reflection this would be tough, your hobby would have to be sitting at home.

It's all about quality and quantity of life.

Many don't publicise or give a fvck.

Gratefully, I am considerably more financially fortunate, than are many western expats.

However, I do possess the wherewithal of character, to have some compassion towards those farangs,...not quite as fortunate, in life, as myself.

Thus, I have no need to ride that pretentious high-horse, while "tooting" my own horn, and comparing myself to others.

The main point of the OP was to simply share the information with those many farangs,...who can (actually) use it.

Those (usual negative detractors), who have no need of such info, can just move blissfully along, as mature/intelligent adults,...for a welcomed change,...Thank you...

What a load of crap. He doesn't live on $600/month. The condo rent alone is $470. Title should be how to live on $600/month if your GFs paying half the bills.

Well for younger expats the long term visa is going to be a big stumbling block in this plan. Cambodia might be a better option if you want to do this? 600 USD is about what I can pull in from my property in the UK. Maybe an early retirement soaked in mama noodles and piss warm beer Archa is the solution? I think not.

We can debate the facts, on the Island of Penang, until the cows come home,...eh?

Sorry, but high-crime Cambodia is absolutely not the better, over-all option (been there, done that,..and have got the T-shirts, to prove it).

The reality is,...that $600./mo (US) will definitely provide for (at least) "the basics" of a reasonably safe and decent lifestyle (with some measure of dignity)...

...especially for those western expats...who (absolutely) cannot obtain an equivalent-lifestyle level, from within their own home countries,...on that same budget level.

FYI ~ Thailand provides for the best over-all "bang-for-the-buck", compared to any other venue, anywhere on this planet. And that's an undeniable fact.

I have actually lived it, w/ an Aussie farang showing the way,... as a challenging exercise only. And,...that "no worries" chap was definitely not a pauper, either. Done!

Kindly watch the video again, while focusing your attention...more upon the finer, "daily-living" aspects,...pertaining to long-term expat life (in the LoS), instead. Ok?
