No problem with Dtac, just the knock-on effect of changing the number.

Of course one of my current Bank Books has done a Lord Lucan, so that's a trip to the Rozzers to get a statement before going to the banks to sort out the number change for online banking.

Would drive a man to Mont Claire.

AIS would also give your phone number to some Nigerian internet banking scammer if you let the validity run out

What about your "other" phone? The one you use for Craigslist dealings? Did you lose that number as well?

Went to Kasikorn, changed to my new phone number with my accounts there.

3 days later it's gone through and I can do my K-Bank online stuff as the OTP SMS code is sent to my new number.

However..... the SMS alert whenever there's a transaction doesn't happen anymore.

Went to the ATM to set it up again, agree to the 199b p/a fee, type in my phone number - Cannot. It is already registered and operational.

Knobends. Quite handy that. Not only for security, but if you want to know the balance, you just check the last sms transaction message.

^ you have to de-register your old number first, then register your new number.

Cost me a couple of thousand baht to extend my AIS number to Jan 2020 (have to do it because it's for my banking).

Was half that a year ago.

    That did the trick. Cheers.

Doesn't anything about deregistering your old number, just has cancel the service on the left side of the screen. Gotta do that, then register again, even though the foks have the number in their system and already registered.

Cool. My Malaysian card had the de-register option on the ATM which took a while to figure out.

I extend my number's validity monthly (from the Middle East) via the DTAC website.

It costs 2 baht per month.

It seems you might also be something approaching an 'expat retard'.

You can get an app called unliminet from the appstore and playstore. It lets you send validity amongst other things, so you could get the missus or whoever to send you some instead of topping up anything.

I don't mind having the credit - I'll use it on Internet - but it's just the fucking cheek.
