Miss Universe being held in Bangkok on Monday 17 Dec

Miss Universe Pageant boasts all female judging panel, the first time in pageant’s 67 year history

    https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/fa...0c1bea3516cd76

It was an inauspicious start to a carefully stage-managed event which claims to “be built on a foundation of inclusion and continues to be a celebration of diversity.”

Miss USA has been forced to apologise ahead of Sunday’s Miss Universe 2018 beauty pageant in Thailand after apparently mocking Miss Cambodia and Miss Vietnam for not being able to speak English.

Organisers have worked hard to redefine this year’s Miss Universe - which will be the 67th and the largest in the competition's history, with 94 women taking part - for a post-#MeToo era.

Miss Spain didn't make the swimsuit parade that I saw.

'Miss Spain' was born Mr Spain

At home, she works for the Daniela Foundation, a Spanish non-profit organisation working to eradicate the stigma trans children face.

BTW, I learnt something. I've never heard of the country of Aruba

Blimey - I truly hope this elicits at least a few report threads.

Presumably the bint is fluent in both Khmer and Vietnamese.

One hopes the judges give the stupid bitch "nil points".

Voting for the Spanish cross dresser heh Harry?

Far be it from me to defend a plastic gormless yankee doodle dandy, but all the merkin slut said was "She doesn't speak English and no one speaks her language. It must be so disorientating for her". Miss Cambo probably does speak English though. Well at least knows the basics like Ten Dollar

^ that's not all the story.

Against this backdrop, the online fury sparked by an Instagram Live video featuring Miss USA will be all the more galling to the event's organisers.
The video shows Sarah Rose Summers, 24, speaking with Miss Colombia and Miss Australia apparently making light of the fact that H’Hen Nie, Miss Vietnam, cannot speak English.

“She’s so cute and she pretends to know so much English and then you ask her a question after having a whole conversation with her and she goes ...”, said Ms Summers, before miming someone smiling and nodding.

In an aside on Nat Rern, Miss Cambodia, Ms Summers said that it must be isolating and confusing not to be able to communicate, before adding “poor Cambodia.”

The online backlash was swift and damning, particularly after influential fashion industry Instagram account, Diet Prada, reported the comments as “normalised xenophobia.”

It’s really bad that, not speaking the language. I’m with miss Vietnam on this. Smile, nod politely and wave at the locals in a friendly manner. It’s just my way of saying, I’m embarrassed by my limited Bahasa.

    Why?

Did nature not evolves females in beauty to turn the eyes of males. Why are males not judging this?

Fookin Jaysus. Is there no end to this posturing political garbage. It is not a celebration of 'diversity'. It is a celebration of chilli-sauce-hot poontang, as every fooker and his wife knows.

Why not make them judge each other ?
After all the screaming, slapping and hair pulling is over you’d have a result.
    Maybe.

And a Flipper wins it. Well actually, half-Flipper, half-Scottish/Aussie.

I note that the contestants aspirations have moved on from saving the world to, to the environment and women’s rights.

    Sorry about that, unintentional.

Miss Universe pageant has kicked off in Bangkok with Miss Philippines contestant - and a once Queensland (Australian) resident - taking out the crown for 2018.

According to the Cairns Post, the 24-year-old first started working on her modelling career while still at Trinity Anglican School in Cairns, and has since moved to the Philippines and worked as a model and a pop singer.

Her new song, We’re in this Together, has beaten Ariana Grande into the top spot on iTunes in the Philippines.

Ms Gray beat out South Africa finalist Tamaryn Green for the crown. Ms Green was crowned first runner-up.

The women who made it through to the final round included Vietnam, Venezuela, Philippines, Costa Rica, Curacao, Nepal, Canada, Thailand and Puerto Rico.
