Despite having the advantage of long silky black hair to start with, the regular Asian girls seem to lack imagination with hairstyles.

The majority will have long black locks, usually tied up in a bun or a pony tail, for practical reasons. Apart from that they do seem to lack imagination.

I like long and black too. It does usually make them look a bit more mature, which is often unwarranted.

Someone my age enjoying an Asian girl with a ponytail does seem a bit Pervy though.

Quite like the elfin look with short black hair. It does need a slim face and a slender figure to carry it off though.

If you have straight long hair, tying it up in a ponytail is easy and less messy when doing exercise or other physical things like hiking, sports or doing house work.

At present, I have long hair and I sometimes put it in a pony tail or braid it. In the past, I have had short hair (chin length bob), shoulder length, long curly locks (via a perm). I've also done the pixie cut - I think that's what Switch calls the "elfin look" - but I was younger and stick-thin then. 555 The pixie cut was right after I chopped my curly locks off. My hair was dyed and permed then, and I wanted to revert to my orig hair color and texture, so I had the locks chopped. I was more experimental with hair in my 20s.

Will probably have my hair cut to shoulder length in a few days/ weeks - am getting tired of long hair. 55

Sometimes some workplaces don't allow "loud" hair colors/dyes, like bright red or blonde. Examples are banks and other corporate offices (and my ofc).

Edit: I've tried the faceapp(?) on FB. Red hair suits me better than blonde. Heh...

Re the hair thing, aside from styles the worst thing they do is bleach / dye their hair, it never really works and just ruins the condition of it until it grows out. Its like the coloured contacts, just looks weird imo.

Thai and Asian hair in general is straight, straight, straight with no wave at all. Takes a lot of work to create a hair style.

When I came back home after my last trip to the Philippines I told my friends there's good news and bad news.

The good news is the young women wear their hair long again. I just love the long hair though I do understand it is a hassle for the wearer.

The bad news is they color it. That's fine as long as it is a dark brown, or a dark reddish hue. But a light blonde Chinese? Not for me to enjoy.

Somewhat OT, I saw a woman here in Germany a few days ago. At least mid Seventies if not older. But her hairdo would make any 15 year old proud to wear at a Halloween party. Formed into spikes standing out, coloured light blonde with bright orange red tips to the spikes, like on fire. If it was a wig it was a very good and expensive one. I think it was her own hair. It did look good.
