What's it all about? I ask.

We don't get any say in being born. Some bloke and some bint spend a few minutes bumping and grinding and nine months later we appear in the world. Nobody fucking asks us first. It's something foisted upon us by two people 15, 20, 25, 30 or more years older than us! Then what? Are we free to do what we want? Are we fuck. Suck on this tit. Stick this bottle in yer gob. Take a spoon full of this gooey shite for yer breakfast son, and shit in this nappy and sit in it for a while while I cook yer dad's dinner.

And when we get a bit bigger, they take us off to school, whether we like it or not. Don't wanna go to school? Fuck you. You're going. For the next decade! And any more of yer shite, whack. Somebody bigger than you will whack you and tell you to follow the "rules". Rules they fucking made without asking me. Bastards.

Then after forcing you to go to school, they then force you to go and get a fucking job. Don't wanna work? Find yourself somewhere else to stay then. Fook off. So you're stuck with working for a living. And if you get sick of it and want to top yourself, it's against the fooking law in most countries so you become a criminal for wanting to end your shitty life. It's just not fucking fair, is it? So what are your options then? Drink or post on TD! Or both! Well, here's my post. I'm off to the fridge to get me beer. Fuck off.

It is an interesting philosophical line.

But given the increasing moral acceptability of topping yourself these days, plus the wide variety of practical methods, on balance, I don't think anybody can really have anything too much to grumble about.

Life begins and ends in nothingness and our private spark of consciousness follows a meandering trajectory of fate in between, on our personal road to nowhere.
