...I've been wondering if that bright speck in the pre-dawn sky was Venus or Jupiter: SD has an app that tells the wearer what in the sky he's looking at...

I see that morning star every morning just before sun-up (eastern sky, almost exactly where the sun's trajectory will be) and have assumed it's venus just by it's size. It's big. I've been meaning to ask on the space news thread. Standing by for an answer.

Awesome scenery. Said to myself, "I want to go fishing there!" before I read your comment that you went there for fishing. But I'm a bit confused; If you're looking north and the open sea is to your left, you must be on the west coast? I had assumed you were east coast.

^^ west coast - its kalbarri - caught no fish of consequence -
TC - they are some sort of banksias - when the flowers are out before the summer, its a bit like gems studded in the semi-desert.

I can't help but belt out The Triffids "its a wide open road" at the top of my voice - no one around to hear it

I HATE those noisy fuckers. They've invaded gardens through out Australia.

We feed the Magpies a little to keep them here and the noisy minors away.

Minah. But I'm sure there will be a punny joke somewhere involving them and Major Mitchells.

Re posts 184, 191-193...it is a native Australian bird but I did spell Miner incorrectly. It is a Noisy Miner. Totally agree on the nuisance that is the imported Mynah bird.

Set up new GoPro Hero 7 on the Revo for a road trip up to some mountain retreat with wifey tomorrow. No idea what the terrain is like. Just know its some small resort on the top of a mountain and the road is "treacherous" as my wife said. Of course I laughed inside a bit as she has no idea what "treacherous" is until you do a few Jeep Jamborees up in Northern California.

If anything noteworthy I will post the vid.

Just hope the resort doesn't get raided for forest encroachment while you're there. My money's on that the place should be...site unseen.
