The buyers QA and packers at their Grade 1 truck.

The Grade 2 truck with the "cutter".
He climbs the Durian trees, checks for ripeness, shouts down to the "catcher" and cuts the fruit stem. The "catcher" looks up and positions themself to catch the durian fruit with his outstretched sack. As the durians are anywhere from 2 to 6kg and may drop from 10+ m. it's a hazardous task.
Still some Mangosteen to pick but the family coffer has been replenished for another year.:)
In the background, left, is the roof of one of the Army Camp's cabins can be seen.
There is a pull up barrier just up the track, although it's never down. FIL's farm is a short distance beyond it. When the camp is manned one stops and informs anyone awake, not eating or exercising, where your going. As a falang and if a new troupe, they take a closer interest as the track goes eventually to Cambodia. I'm told it's mined!
My role is to take the group up to the farm, deliver food an drinks, park up and wait for the "porters" delivering their 50kg loads, watch the packers fill my pickup with the fruit, wait/snooze and repeat until full. I then drive my 4WD down the hilly and after the rain, slippery red mud/rocks track. Slowly. The graders grade/weigh/transfer to their own 2WD truck. If necessary back up to the farm for additional loads.
This bad boy Oak is in all its glory. Its faired really well, its well over a meter in diameter and unusually has few broken boughs must be well over 300 years old and looks strong. Its up against a wall next to a church and unfortunately you can't lie down and take a shot up the full length but you get the idea.
Standing under it its a lovely sight looking up through the canopy.
