The Chi River in Mahasarakham is as low as it’s been for 50 years.
Rice crops not looking too good.
The land is as dry as a pommy’s towel.

Pa Hin Ngam national park
Crazy popular with people wanting to see the Siam Tulips which aren’t plentiful because it’s so dry.
My local national parks at home are usually deserted because the sheep are at home getting drunk watching pointless and horrible sports so this was a bit of a shock.
But no other person photographed the magnificent vista or even bothered to look at it or contemplate it.
They just took endless bloody selfies and group photos.
They are taking selfies with the vista behind them. That seems to be the modern way and very popular in Thailand. I'm more like you. I prefer an unhindered shot of the view. I have often heard Thai people talking about me as I take photos and some have even asked to get in my photos (even complete strangers!). I politely decline and shoot the view or whatever it is I want to photograph without the view being spoiled by people.
Okay I’m a simpleton but I just don’t get it.
Every meal is photographed, every sign is stood in front of for a photo etc etc.
Who TF ever looks at them ?
In Straya people don’t seem to be able to live in the present and just be part of the present reality either so it’s not just a Thai thing.
Same as the Mekong. This looks like fields, but it's the Mekong river bank in Vientiane, looking towards Thailand. I think all those upsteam dams have really fcuked up the water levels - bet Vietnam and Cambodia aren't happy. The Chi River in Mahasarakham is as low as it’s been for 50 years.
Nice wee spot to chill at. I've a very good friend that spent 10 years there. Always make sure to stay there for a day or 2 when around the area. There's also another TD'er that ending up rooting two nurses from the hospital just down the road from Serm Thai Plaza in one night.
Nice pizza place along the moat, by a retired Thai bloke that lived in Italy for 20 years or so iirc. With a great Norwegian Black/Death Metal bar set up by a young Norwegian next door, and a liter of Single Malt from the wine/whiskey shop near the round about at the end of the weekend market. The big disco next door too. Happy days.
Rumour has it of a dodgy TD'er just down the road in Roi-Et.
Mention no Nortons.
Took a stroll through Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve. It's along the west side of Lake Michigan.
A bridge over a little creek.
Took the stairs down to cross another stream.
Followed a trail along the stream that lead to the lakefront.
With the wind from the east that day it stirred up the sands and made it look like chocolate milk.
A lone cargo ship making it's way toward Whitefish Bay.
Some clown dropped this on the trail. I did my part and took it with me. It was all I found though.
Some high ground.
And some wetlands.
A nice footpath over the wetlands. Not surprising there were a few folks out for a walk as it was a beautiful day.
Very nice Fish.
Here's my morning walk, there are 3 variants; the shortest is 3 miles and the longest 12; some snaps of the short one today before work
Out the house and along the ridge
Past the church and then down the hill
Meet up with the canal and hope someone remembered to put the swing bridge back or else you are on the 7 mile middle version
looking back from where you've come
Look to where you've got to go
Further, need a new camera
the up the hill, if you are unlucky you might see a car and then home for Tea, Sh t , Shave, Shower and work
Looking southeast from the bluff. With a west wind you can see thirty feet or more down into the lake. I know this because I have downriggers on my boat and can see the silver flashers as I lower them.

Nice pics of your area. I messed up the order, this should have been the fourth pic. The bridge across the stream that leads to the lake. Very cool under the trees and with an east wind the weather was perfect.

You can read about it by following the link above.
I saw a few birds there.
"During peak spring migration, over 20 species of warblers can be found within a short walk from the parking lot. The boardwalks offer views of species such as Rails, Least Bittern, Green Heron, Piedbilled Grebe, Ring-necked and Wood Duck."
From the link above.
fish.
Took a walk over to Siam Paragon for a few games of bowling then grab some grub
Dropped me a 157 then a 202. Had me a little audience when I got to 3rd strike in a row. Did a 359 total pin in 2 games for an avg of 180.
On my way to lunch I walked around and came across this beauty at the Tissot watch kiask.......
Honda RCV 213. It can be yours for a mere 8,700,000 baht. The upside is the VAT is included. . I went to the Foreigner Vat Refund area for fun to see how much I'd get back. The scale only goes to 250,000 bht.......
While I like Motos, I'd prefer a Subaru WRX 3.0 and the change
A guy I know paid four grand for this buggy. Says it does 45 downhill.
