Brother shot these two beauties (before they divebombed my drone) last summer in Seldovia, AK.
The following day after that ^ pic (non-drone Canon w/ high powered zoom)..I droned a little too close to nesting area and they chased me out.
They could've destroyed my Karma (drone) easily.
very "lizardy" looking...except with bigger claws(talons).

Ha! One of those eagles I posted has a history in Seldovia.
(I posted this somewhere before - sorry for repeat)
The local guy I know brought her a baby halibut (25lbs). He left it near the shore under her nest and she just stayed put for awhile...
After an hour or so, a golden eagle comes in and zeroes in on the fish. While attempting to fly off with the ill gotten booty, she struck hard. Knocked the golden out of the sky, ate it and had the halibut the next day. :)
Few more pics from Phrae area

Wedgetailed Eagles nests are protected in Australia and you are not allowed within 100m of known nesting sites during the breeding season never mind fly drones round them.
Looks like Bald Eagles are the same in the US.

It would have been justice well served if the eagle had trashed your drone.
Drone flyers need to go to drone school before they are allowed their wings.
Fark off Looper - I was 250 meters away from the nest.
