Two suicidal dogs taking a nap on a traffic island at a busy Korat junction. Surely they could have found a better place?

And not a red light camera to be seen! (Unless anyone knows better?)

Of course. It’s a plage naturiste too. No worries about losing swim shorts in the surf :-)

The brand new Johan Sverdrup development through my office window.

A couple of years ago Statoil changed their name to Equinor in line with the current trend to make your company sound green and environmentally friendly.

Meanwhile they were developing the Johan Sverdrup oil and gas field. This is an absolutely huge recent find, the fifth largest on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and only 160km west of Stavanger. The field has a 50 year design life so will be pumping oil and gas well into the 2060's, and probably beyond as new technology comes in. At it's peak it is expected to comprise 25% of all output from the NCS.

    How green is that!

After turning on the taps later this year, all construction costs are expected to be recovered within 30 days. Gives you some idea of why Norway is such a phenomenally wealthy country.

Not a bad ROI. To think what it is for land-based rigs which I guess are a lot easier and cheaper to construct.

Always has been, oil/gas companies know the cost of "time to delivery" to the satang.

Design, construction, delivery, connection, testing, certification to arrival onshore. All divided by 525,600, (365 x 24 x 60).

If the shapes. Within the red box is the icebreaker, the green box the defending destroyer and the purple box the defending submarine. "Stealth" has taken another giant step.

What was he addicted to back then?

    X-Box was the subject.

Missed that earlier Maanny. My expeditions these days consist of trying to make it back up to the top of the stairs. Not very mobile at the moment.

He only ever asks questions of me if he sees an opportunity to disparage me or my family. As you saw, he was trying to insinuate something.

    Cue the big innocent act.

^^@lulu Oh, you meant which game specifically...does it matter? My youngest grandson is a Fortnite freak. But he plays others too. All.the.friggin.time. The older grandson is not quite as bad. He'll get off of X-box and get on his mobile.

Or do you mean X-Box wasn't around then? I'm not up on the gaming world. I know my 30 something S-I-L is also addicted to gaming. His thing was/is Playstation. But he has 3 or 4 different gaming systems. I just don't get it.

I see by search there's different versions of X-Box(X-Box 360, etc.) and I'm not sure which version my grandsons have. They got them last X-Mas.

Of course they probably don't get my fixation with my PC and forums. Maybe I'm a hypocrite on this...

S-I-L mentioned is not these grandson's dad, he is my other daughter's husband. Their dad doesn't have anything to do with gaming. So it must have come friends at school.

Anyway good on Maanny for getting his son into other interests. Could be his son was into what ever was big at that time.

^^I know Norton...but won't work in our situation. Bi-level home, two separate flights of stairs.

We've been discussing selling and getting a single-story house...or downsizing to a condo. Our dogs could be a dealbreaker on the condo though.
