Didn't know they could actually sting. Big Mexican one, a friends pet, crawled up my arm. Felt like a bunch of tiny suction cups.

We did a few days last week on Verde Island.
Verde Island is situated along the bodies of Verde Island Passage between the islands of Luzon and Mindoro, Philippines.

The beaches are not fantastic here, but it was a good place to chill out for a few days.

The first 24 hours, we were the only 2 guests at the resort, just how I like it.

Over the next 3 days, a few Filipinos came but they only ever stayed for one night.

    That looks fantastic.
We took a roadtrip with some friends and one place we went to was Tad Fane. Laos highest waterfall.

There were a few people flying drones from the main viewpoint. You had a very small window as there are trees above. Honestly I was afraid to fly the mavic and so did not from this area as a video vlogger from Holland said he lost signals multiple times.

I did exchange email and have his vlogg info so when he is done editing I can view his stuff.

I did fly at a few other waterfall though yesterday. Have yet to review the footage.

Thanks for the lovely beach pic btw and the videos. Im still in the learning stage with it all.

    fish.

Later in the day we stopped at this restaurant for a few plates of papaya salad. The nieces and the commanders wife jumped in for a swim. I though it a bit odd as none brought a change of cloths.

They said they were fine with it. A bit of a cool down on our way to the final waterfall of the day.

When I dig into the gopro and drone stuff I just might. I did post the little red sausage however still looking for some interesting random machinery.

The sausage is in the breakfast thread. I posted it with you in mind. You don't have to thank me, just thought you may have had nothing better to look at.

    It's 8am so yes, I'm ok.
I'm gonna see if I can get into this place this trip. Went past it two days ago and snapped these shots.

This place was featured in the In and around Laos thread last year.
The remnants of an old french building down the road have been demolished in preparation for a new structure.

Some Blue Jay action on a new bird feeder I put out. The cold weather is really ramping up the activity.

Mt Warning in northern New South Wales, Australia. The central plug of the long gone Tweed Volcano. Stands 1,159m (3,802' in the old money) and was named by Capt Cook. Being high and close to the most easterly mainland point of Australia it is the first Australian land for sunrise most of the year. Climbing to the top on the mountain in the early hours to enjoy the sunrise is a thing. My first attempt was in the 1970s as a teenager, we stopped because my father fell ill. Then climbed it with my first wife in the early 1980s. Remember when we came down a car I had traded in three years earlier was in the carpark. Next climbed it in the 1990s with my tween kids. Then on my own at 50 in 2009. I was 98kg then and super fit. Ran it in 78 minutes from carpark to summit (although the last bit is on chains). The vertical climb is 800m and distance around 7-8 klms I think. Last time was with my Thai wife three years ago. Three hours up, three hours down. If the carpark was not sloped down when I emerged from the walking track I don't think I would have made it to the car. Literally could not walk next day. Never again.
