As an example I do not mind my life currently. Knowing reality that can change in an instant.

So when has your life puckered? As in either you go on or hold the flag.

I'm sure there are a few stories here.

There was a time. Mind you, I was 13 or 14.
My parents went to a neighbouring property ( around 5km down the coast) to look after it when the old lady had to go to hospital. She had two "special needs" sons who were around my dad's age but couldn't really fend for themselves. They could work, cut copra ect, but not really do things around the house properly.
I was left on the plantation, alone, to hold the fort. No biggie normally, however a hurricane rolled in, and it was a doozy.
The storm surge came during the night, and at high tide the waves were slamming against the front of the house with water pouring in through the gap between the wall and the roof.
The house was awash with water and sand.
I took the matress off my brother's bed and put it on my bed, and climbed into my bed under his matress, there to spend the night, listening to the storm, the waves, the crashing... and praying.
In the morning it looked like the house had been built on the beach as sand had been washed up and extended to well behind the house, where the boat had ended up, too. The house was a mess of wet sand.
End of story. Yeah, I was very scared.

Had a knife put to my eye in London, that wasn't very nice. Never had any issues traveling and working in Honduras or rebel-held areas of northern Shan State/Kachin state when I took my hols in Myanmar.

I was "concerned" enough when a guy pulled a gun on his bint near me a few months back. A knife to the eye is definitely up there in shitting-your-pants territory.

A few years ago there was a black and white craze here.
I had I guy in a tavern ask me where I stood. I said " You're asking me? " This after some brothers we dragging defenseless women out of their cars and beating them at random not too far away.

Needless to say I took a few for their BLM cause. I do understand the frustration though there are proper ways to vent.
