back to topic, CMN you said the fat killer has not been so bad recently. Not true, he has used any excuse to bomb and strafe many Palestinian areas, killing many innocent citizens. Yes, occasionally he has managed to assassinate a member of Hamas etc (against UN laws and all conventions) with some justification, but his actions usually killed innocents.
His "peace" policies were the minimal amount he could do under intense pressure from the US, not because he thought they were a good idea.

I found the Israelis to be nice and in some cases pretty generous, but then so were a lot of the Egyptians (I hung with them more, but did have a wickedly safe Israeli friend....I was gutted he had to join the army....not much fun for them).
Saying that I did get threatened with a stabbing in Israel and almost got macheted in Egypt (my Egyptian mate thought it would be funny to teach me to say something like "your dad fucks goats", which I said to the helper bloke where we were staying....he pinned me down and with his machete raised over his head told me if I ever said it again he'd kill me......know how to take a joke them boys).

When I was there I kind of appreciated their attitude, as I'm sure if I spent time in Palastine I could appreciate theirs.
Sharon is known as the "Butcher of Beirut" from the time he let his forces stand by whilst the Christian militia massacred the inmates of the Shabra and Shatilla refugee camps. Even the courts in Israel found him guilty of negligence. In fact, it was known that he encouraged the massacre, to solve some problems these refugees posed (wanting to return to Palestine).
