Fish sand witch?
Is there a swimsuit section, or has that been banned as un-PC?
I usually swim naked in the early hours
I read about a bloke who reckons he electrocuted people in a swimming pool by throwing a tv off a balcony
Which would physically be impossible unless he had a long extension lead
Then again in Thailand they often put high voltage electrics in dangerous places
Never heard of anyone getting a shock or dying, as their customers are all French & Indians
It was in the 80s so that is a possiblity
Actually, the coil on the CRT develops maybe 1000 V (can't remember exactly) and may be behind the urban myth that a TV can electrocute when thrown into a pool, like a toaster into a bath. Myth I reckon wrt a tv not plugged in. The capacitors were not that big!
Remember, it's current that kills, not voltage.
Yeeerrrrs. It's still always current that kills. 240 V can kill...if the resistance is such that the current is high. 1000V won't kill if the resistance is such that the current is low.
It's the flow (the current) that matters, disrupting the heart neurons and burning tissues (due to resistance ), not the potential energy (voltage). That's why V is "potential" energy only. Current lets the electricity see it's potential.
