    Judge Judy – Yikes

I just improved my internet package and started to download some torrents as I had never watched the Judge Judy show , so I downloaded several episodes
and watched them all. All I can say is What a Shock

I watched the first episode I downloaded and thought to my self , this can’t be real it must be some sort of staged reality program full of paid actors and stooges. So I binge watched the rest of the episodes . Well if all the people going in front of JJ are real citizens then all I can say is WTF.

One thing that surprised me was the women , a lot seemed to be overweight barrels with the IQ of a five year old and many looked to be afflicted by mental retardation . As for the majority of the men , the word that springs to mind is dumb. Many of them seemed to lack the human power of speech and just stood there like sticks of wood. The other thing that stood out was the large number of cases where family members were trying to stick it to another family member , mother Vs daughter type of thing .

JJ must be getting a decent wedge for the show , but can you imagine having to sit there while an endless parade of fellow country men confirm their stupidity .

So whats your take on JJ

    It's difficult to say, isn't it ?

My mind flip-flops between seeing it as the same type of over-dramatization as in professional wrestling and being .....horrifyingly....real.

You should have binge watched survivor or masterchef (or ANYTHING else) How you can get through one episode of that tripe stumps me.

She will likely be a future Trump nomination for the supreme court.

The people (plaintiffs and defendants) are not actors but are approached by the producers after filing actual law suits. The agreement is each side gets paid by the show and any damages ruled are paid out of that purse, and the agreement is no further ltigation.
Not quite as bad as Jerry Springer, but the demograph is similar.

That would be Jeanine Pirro. I seriously doubt JJ would give much truck to Trump.

Yeah, not quite Oprah, but she's amassed quite a bit over the years.

^ Thanks Dave. I love you too (Sunday dayshift sock, na). Unfortunately I omitted an emoticon in that post and it seems one TD poster took my post seriously. Not you.

Well, a misplaced punctuation mark, a missing letter, or a missing emoji can certanly change the tone, intent, and meaning of any post. Why wouldn't anybody take it the way it was posted and not the way you intended?

Judy Sheindlin might be the highest paid star in television, but her $47 million-per-year salary isn't so outrageously high, according to a real judge.

In a mysterious way I seem to now be getting hooked on JJ , just watching the endless stupidity has become addictive and mesmerizing at the same time . I’m not into cooking but I like the sound of survivor .

You think that's "mysterious" tv junky? Pffft!

    Vicarious - Tool

    Eye on the TV
    'cause tragedy thrills me
    Whatever flavour
    It happens to be like;
    Killed by the husband
    Drowned by the ocean
    Shot by his own son
She used the poison in his tea
    And kissed him goodbye
    That's my kind of story
It's no fun 'til someone dies
    Don't look at me like
    I am a monster
    Frown out your one face
    But with the other
    Stare like a junkie
    Into the TV
    Stare like a zombie
    While the mother
    Holds her child
    Watches him die
    Hands to the sky crying
    Why, oh why?
'cause I need to watch things die
    From a distance
Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
You all need it too, don't lie

Why can't we just admit it?
Why can't we just admit it?
We won't give pause until the blood is flowing
    Neither the brave nor bold
    The writers of stories sold
We won't give pause until the blood is flowing
I need to watch things die
    From a good safe distance
Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same so
Why can't we just admit it?
    Blood like rain come down
    Drawn on grave and ground
    Part vampire
    Part warrior
    Carnivore and voyeur
    Stare at the transmittal
    Sing to the death rattle
La, la, la, la, la, la, la-lie
Credulous at best, your desire to believe in angels in the hearts of men.
Pull your head on out your hippy haze and give a listen.
Shouldn't have to say it all again.
The universe is hostile. so Impersonal. devour to survive.
So it is. So it's always been.
    We all feed on tragedy
It's like blood to a vampire
Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
    Much better you than I

Exactly, but its worth pointing out that the show producers are not going to select people capable of making a well reasoned argument. The are going to select cases from the "your dog f*cked my ham sandwich and now I want damages" brigade.

Bring out your slow, incompetent and stupid - they make the "best" TV....
