Yeah, the Fibonacci series is amazing. For those that don't know, those numbers aren't random. Starting at 1, you add the last two results, so 1 + 0 = 1, and you have 1,1. add the last two results, 1+1 = 2, then 2+1 = 3, 3+ 2 = 5, 5+ 3 = 8 and so on. Thus, 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,35,56.....

There's a fascinating maths trick that is easy to do and a wonder for those that are watching.
Using the fibonacci series algorythm, ie add the last two numbers to get the next number, get your audience to pick two random numbers to start off with. ANY numbers from 1 to infinity! But best to keep the first two random numbers under 10 as the series will quickly grow big and you have to do all the additions.
do the fibonacci thing, adding the first two numbers to get a third number, then the 2nd and third numbers to get a 4th, 3rd and 4th to get a 5th etc until you have a list of ten numbers.
Get a member of the audience to use a calculator to add up all ten numbers. Before they have finished, you will know the result!
Here's why;
The seventh result multiplied by eleven will always equal the sum of all ten numbers.
example, start off with 4 and 7.

To quicky multiply a number by 11, you can multiply by 10 and add the number to the result, or a neat way for 2 digit numbers is to split the two digits and put their sum in between. eg 76. 7....6. 7 plus 6 is 13. Put down the 3 and carry the one 836. Another example 34 x 11;split the 3 and 4, and put their sum in between; 3....3+4.....4 ie 374.

To look really amazing, get your audience to do all the additions while you look away because some may think you're adding up as you go along. Glance at the list, identify the 7th result, and get someone to add all ten numbers up. You should be able to mentally multiply the 7th number by eleven before the calculator adds all ten numbers. Whatsmore, you merely glanced at the list and got the sum total in seconds.
They'll think you're a savant.

But what about 42, what the fuk is that all about.

Amazingly, Fibonacci works for the meaning of life, too. :)

It's very common in nature, with animals, plants, you name it and Fibonacci's there somewhere, pick up some leaves or flowers at random, count the veins/petals...

Yeah, Fibonacci was fraud, typical italian.
