I do but she's with daighter somewhere off Nagasaki so need to be a very long broom,I leave all such animal husbandry to local ladies, it's always pleasant to watch them perform , lean, scream , giggle, squirm etc very educational as for the tookays live and let live, they haven't tapped my cheese or wine.
If we catch one I'd like a recipe

Have a big house lizard, lives in the bathroom, shower, toilet wet room, his name is charlie, kids are a bit afraid of him/her, hides behind the mirror.
Kids having a bath, shower, will call and say, get charlie out.

Charlie is my hero, before charlie had big spiders, hate and have a fear of them, charlie removed the spiders

Yes, good luck is how it was billed and sold to me. Ours is a monster but seems rather reclusive and hangs in the highest peaks on the beams near the south entrance to the upper elevation of the farmhouse.

We keep a light lit at night that draws other flying creatures so naturally he/she gravitates there. So luck for all as in a way we mutually benefit.

Besides there is not much else going on usually other than story time and beer drinking when she makes her calls. As I recall all "action" immediately stops only to count out loud with each of her calls. As I remember it we have a luck level of about 11. This may happen only once a night just after sundown when most field work has stopped on the farm, local vendors have left with their baskets full of vegetables to sell in town the next morning, the small children have eaten and gone to bed and there is not much to do except count our blessings.

If I were a gambling man, which I'm not nor have I ever been, one number I'd pick would surely be eleven. It was explained the more calls the luckier we are. So if I find myself there and she no longer calls unlucky it could seem.

Thinking aloud it's fair to say the monster I most fear is my own mind.

    Good luck with yours. ...

No need Jack. I have reached a point where I no longer have to worry about tomorrow today as I have been planning various exit strategies since I was young.

If you're inferring I may off myself at any time you'd be mistaken. In fact I wouldn't even concider letting you......

Sadly (for him), my Tookay is no more...

I asked at work about Tookays, and apparently they are bad luck in Myanmar, unlike good luck in Thailand. They wrote down the Burmese word for 'Tookay' and I showed that word to the hotel reception staff, who recoiled in horror!

Minutes later, 3 young men were at my bedroom door ( nope, it is not some gay chicken farm hotel...). I showed them where the Tookay was hiding behind my wardrobe. Unlike the previous pest control guy with the large woolly gloves, these guys seemed to be lapsed Buddhists, since they cracked the lizard over the head with a broom handle and escorted him out of my room.

Well, at least I can sleep more peacefully now. And I bought an airtight container to place open, unchilled food in.

I suppose the next animal in my room is probably going to be a cobra snake or family of scorpions. I'll report that event when (not if) it happens.

Is that critter (not the dog) alive? If so, how did you get that shot (if it's yours)? My dogs are terrified of them big bastards.

About the same size water monitor lizard my dog was playing with. These beasts go after dogs for dinner but this one made a big mistake.

Not my photo, DW. From a local FB page, afaik. Thai dogs seem to leave them alone though. Probably know that one bite from a Monitor can be fatal.
