iPhone murder, suspect arrested
At 1.30am, on the morning of January 6, police arrested a man suspected of murdering a Bangkok student whilst robbing him of an iPhone.
Twenty-six year old Mr Kittikorn Wikaha has told investigating officers that he saw the victim, twenty-six year old Mr Wasin Luengjam, talking on his phone and decided to wait until he was least expecting it and try to rob him.
He says that he approached the student and held a knife to his neck but Mr Wasin refused to hand over the phone and so he decided to stab him. He claims that if his victim and simply ‘handed over the phone he would still be alive.’
Wikaha has been in prison eight times for violent crime and, on the most recent occasion, was released only two weeks earlier.
He said that he and his friend had no money and so decided to rob somebody. The unnamed friend has yet to be caught.
Wikaha will be charged with murder.
