Inspiration please : what is the name of this phenomenon ?

I'm sure there's a name for this phenomenon, but I can't think of it. Can anyone here ?

When there are a fair number of positive reports about a person (for instance a medical professional), but a few negative reports.....and those negative reports make you a bit worried because they do mean something.
If it was just one negative thing, you could understand the one dissatisfied person's grumble. You can't please everybody.
But three or four negative reports seem to cancel out quite a few positives, because you want to be cautious....after all, you are putting your trust, health and money in this person's hands. And those negative reports worry you.....

What is it called when those negatives "mark down" the person's reputation so much ?

I keep thinking of "the precautionary principle", but I'm sure there is another name...

I'm sure it's like how at school we received negative marks for every wrong thing the examiner found, instead of being "marked up" for every good thing we wrote.

I understand your fears, realistically we have to choose from the best on offer, good luck

I'm sure Harry means no harmand was being drole, if you have can research get as many choices as practicable.

I can see how it is called negativity bias. Nastiness just makes a bigger impact on our brains.

However if you see a doctor and someone you know tells you that they were treated very badly by that doctor......and then someone else tells you something quite similar, you tend to think that perhaps their medical advice is not so good...

I'm sure there is another way to describe it....I just can't grasp it. Perhaps I've been working too hard lately.

Challenging and questioning nonconformity is traditionally looked upon as heresy by dumbed-down conventional measures.

That was Jeff 50 years ago. It’s been all down hill since then.
