Thread: Should the much derided repo system be replaced

With something more transparent perhaps.

Posters given a simple Like/Dislike button which will appear in the post to show how many positive/negative reactions are made for that post.


The poster can can see his cumulative reputation in control panel.

If possible negative or disliked posts would only be validated by a comment from the negative poster. (Maybe this would prevent (cough) certain posters patting themselves on the back.

No. It's meaningless in any case, and was just 'fixed' again anyway.

I simply block out the names of people that repo me, and it drives some of the nutters absolutely nuts.

One of the rules at TVF that I did agree with was not to edit other people's posts. A "FTFY" joke is fine, but to edit a post and repost it as if that was the member's words is deceit.
Why do the mods countenance deceit?

The repo whore has his whole life based on his repo. He seems to think it's actual real-life popularity and admiration.
Sad existence, which the forum should discourage.

Repo poverty is a social blight on the face of TeakDoor. It is shameful in the year 2018 that such vast poverty exists.

I seppo the system can be perceived a bit " harsh". How about just tweeking it up a bit as the coins rather look the same except for color.

For example:
Gold takes the form of a dandelion
Yellow a tulip
Green perhaps a hemp leaf
And red of course a rose

It would be a Chernobyl style meltdown of epic proportions.

Some people have spent years getting gold stars , forming groups to repo each other , creating fake accounts to send themselves repo , making sure that they send out green repo everyday to anyone in order to get enough ammo to Red repo people every two days , some people have put so much time and effort into appearing to be popular .
Getting rid of the repo system would upset some peoples daily routine , waking up in the afternoon , switching on TD , sending greens to their gang, then going onto old threads to unload excess greens to random posts , then searching TD for their enemy in order to Red them .
You would be taking away some posters daily sense of achievement , "What did I do today ?" "I redded Fluke" , *That will teach him not to post annoying posts*
Their daily achievement of clicking on a post , selecting "I disprove" and writing "u fukkin twat" , and gloriously watching a green mark disappear from their enemies repo .
Some posters quality of life will devolve if you take away their repo sending ability and it may lead to a sense of worthlessness , not being able to see all their gold stars everyday to denote how popular they are

What if the posters are like you and dont turn on their repo flake? Have a theory on that one?
