Thread: Did we lose our photo albums with the forum upgrade?

I just noticed that have no albums with this new forum software.

What happened to all the photos from the albums that existed with the previous software? All gone? (I had lots of photos without copies held locally on my laptop, just noticed this).

I don't know if its in any way connected but a lot of the threads (build threads, anyway) have holders where photos once were.

shame the photos went because they are an integral part of the build story.

Someone recommended Imgur to me a long time ago as the photo -holding app for displaying in any thread, and I used it when I started mine - so far I have not had any photos disappear, I don't think.

Certainly would be great to restore those missing pix, though of course some of the (building) threads are very old.

There is another thread somewhere where this was discussed after the upgrade. If I recall correctly, the photos are still here but the old folders are hard to find.

I think those photos were stored in an online photo repository (like Imgur) and when it went commercial, unless subscribers paid, the photos became unavailable.

My photos were stored on the TD server, not an external photo website. I had 2 albums with maybe 100 photos.

Does anyone have a link to the thread which discussed the procedure to retrieve these old albums? Thanks

It's a shame that they couldn't come up with a way to retain the old TD gallery. Were always quite a delight to browse through.
When they changed over the manner and mechanics [after the upgrade] of posting images internally, the new system wasn't compatible with the old TD gallery - therefore, dumped the years accumulated photos.

I believe it was you that posted the dead link of the old TD membership gallery - but the dead mirror site came up a bit of a mish-mash.
One can still google "teakdoor.com gallery" and you'll find some odd results - random members' photos.
