It seems quite straightforward to me : He tells me when he wants to go to the toilet and so he doesnt need diapers anymore .
That does run the risk of having accidents such as this , but he needs to lrarn and learning he is and he no longer has to wear diapers , which must be uncomfortable, nappy rash and all that and not only that, diapers cost 399 Baht for a big pack .
If I would have held him normally , he probably would have made it to the toilet , but because I squeezed his stomach , this have have cause him to piss prematurely

Yes, and if during that transition period , you make them wear a diaper , pissing in their diaper will become the normal thing to do and you would have to wait until they can speak and understand that toilets are for pissing and that they shouldnt do it in their pants , which could add a few years onto their toilet trained ability .
He knew from before two years of age that its was wrong just to piss when he got the urge . I ended up with wet T-shirts numerous times and I let him know that it was the wrong thing to do .
He then held his knob when he needed to piss , to hold it in , which is a sign that he needed to piss and then I would ask "Boshi mai " and he would say "Yes"
A few weeks later he would just say "boshi" and I would get him to a toilet (or pot plant or drain or where ever)
Two years old and toilet trained .
