FFS - the PC crowd have F88ked it again for a fine Aussie Tradition

So, it started out with this ...

A Melbourne council will stop referring to January 26 as Australia Day, after a controversial motion was passed in a dramatic town hall meeting.
    Yarra council voted to:
    • Hold a small-scale, "culturally sensitive" event featuring an (aboriginal) smoking ceremony on January 26.
    • Adopt a communications plan that focuses on "broader community education to help people better understand Aboriginal community experiences of January 26".
    • Refer to the day as "January 26" until another term is adopted nationally.
    • Officially support the #changethedate campaign in council publications and social media.
    • Consider ways to lobby the Federal Government to change the date of Australia Day.

The Social Media is running hard on the issue, the government funded JJJ have moved their fameous 'Top 100' songs from Australia Day to so other day.
One of the fun things that gave you the heads up was that the Lamb' Ad was on the Telly.

An now, the fun tradition of a piss take wrapped in some decent marketing, we get this utter shite.
    NO MENTION OF AUSTRALIA DAY

FFS Australia ... WAKE UP ... stand up for something.

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

You can dislike Australia repositioning what it stands for.

I don't think you're right in suggesting it's a sign of Australia not standing for anything.

Wtf. Why not just have a date, any date but Jan 26, to celebrate culturally sensitive stuff?

I vote for doubling down on these coonts and commissioning a special Australia Day celebration flag featuring HM Bark Endeavour.

She was not actually part of the first fleet, whose arrival is celebrated on 26th January, but she is the symbol of the arrival of European civilisation.

I will personally be seeking a 1/100 scale commissioned build of the Endeavour for my lounge room to celebrate the arrival of civilisation in the land down under.

This is a top idea from Norts. We can keep, Australia Day and also have a 'sore losers' day sometime in June to keep things fair.

^^I redded nev for that OP on a well deserved charge of trolling (since he posted up the OP and did not offer any opinion) and he went scatty for about a week!

That was the best red I ever sent!

Hey Nev, have you broken the new cabbage-meter? How come you have got a 5th silver dollar. That should not be possible. It should have turned into a 6th cabbage. That was a new cabbage-meter not even 6 months old and you have broken it already!

I bought that in hoi an many years ago and they had a thriving business going on with most people opting to send there purchase home by courier, after they ordered the replica of what they wanted, they were well surprised when i said i like it i want it how much. oh no sir you have to order, no i want that one now coz im leavin tomorrow. i drove into vietnam on a roadie so had space enough for it. good deal i reckon, cant remember how much i paid for it but it was one of those impulse buys the kind you think your not gonna see the same thing again.
