Came across a few photos which I found interesting.
Some could see it as the increasing buying power of the Thai Consumer.
The oldest Washing Machine, rusty, was quite small. Would wash a pair of jocks and a handkerchief.
Then the second generation machine.
I've been my Thai Partner more then 6 years and this thing was old when I first went to the Farm ... has to be at least a decade old.
Note that, a decade after the cardboard box came off ... the polystyrene is still under the machine.
The gearbox/clutch was starting to play up, so the BEAST (below) was bought.
Big enough for me to hop in and get a clean.
Note, 12 months after delivery, the sticker on the front is still attached ... sort of like it's very own Red Plates.
We have Twin Tubs because we sort of don't have any reliable town water, we fill it up by hand with buckets.
Even though the machines have grown, the Thai Family's washing style hasn't.
Minimum water, maximum soap powder.
Re Thai consumerism, not trying to make a social comment, just thought it was a couple of amusing photos.
