Re-open empty Army Barracks for Homeless Ex Serviceman

Just come across this petition that was started 4 months ago and still has only 25,000 signatures, its shameful enough the UK govt doesn't do anything for them, considering what they have encountered in there time serving their country.

It would be good if you could share and sign the petition.

It's a shit petition that's why. Better one would be no money is sent in foreign aid especially to nuclear armed countries like Pakistan and India till there is no homeless. Foreign aid bill is currently 13 bill a year. Most of this 13 bill will just be lining the pockets of the wealthy or swallowes up in admin fees and not doing any good for poverty anyway. Spend the money at home, could do a lot of good with an extra 13 bill spent on local services be they for the homeless or NHS or whatever.

One of the recurring themes in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales is that the ugliness of a persons character invariable shows itself in the persons appearance. SeekingASoul really must be some hybrid between Janet Street Porter and Shane MacGowan. Laughing at domestic abuse victims now?

Anyway - army bases are full right now with EU soldiers - one down the road from me even has tents outside stuffed with German soldiers. Brexit indeed. Never going to happen.

He is laughing at buriramboy, who has been convicted of violence against women. Any ugliness of character here shows in your support for the bigoted woman beater.

Your ignorance is your own concern. When a man doesn't know what he's talking about he should simply shut up.

BB Its not about if its a shit petition or not, it's about the exposure of the plight of Ex-servicemen, the more its shared the more it will be seen by people, who don't have a clue what happens.

As seen in the Brexit thread, you have repeated god knows how many times about foreign aid, though ask yourself this have you organised any protests about it.?

If you really think that standing on a soapbox on a Thai forum is being productive in demonstrating what clearly means a lot to you,I'd suggest you look at your vision of a fairer society in the UK.

Yes your right there are groups that help, and underfunded, though it should be the Govt doing this, I take it you don't know much about PTSD.

To be fair, on more than on one occasion you have proven to not have a clue about wtf you're on about.

To your credit, you deleted the post, but never took any responsibility or admitted you were wrong.

I mean, how hard can this be on an anonymous forum.

Sorry, I was wrong.... and that's it.

Even at 64 Mr. Curry could probably get a job as a "driver" or bodyguard or mall cop etc.. One assumes he gets some form of pension albeit small.

Then he could look after himself.

Ru out of money? Time to leave!

speaking as an ex professional warrior, i get very pissed off with

1/ the mothers and families who bitch on about their little boys, serving their country.?

2/ the amount of dross that falls out of said forces, with various excuses as to why they are inadequate.

now my opinion based on intimate and personal experience, back in the day when i served, scotland in particular gave civilian miscreants a choice, jail or sign on, this was the norm all over uk, u had poor lads from mining communities signing on to avoid the mines, you had dumb kunts like me signing on to get out of the perceived shit... i was lucky, as it turned out for me, i got a good education from HMS,, so in conclusion dross in, some dross out, some dross never improves, you cant help someone that cant help themselves. throw all the money u have at them , its a total waste....

chico put ur and in ur pocket. u'll never change fuck all.... why do u think u have production quality control,, its to pick out the non standard items, ie the fucking dross.
sadly now theres no national service most of the dross is still in every high street in the country... oh, and sleeping rough.

Many people fall on hard times, why do you think that he should receive special treatment , just because he was in the army ?
Some people join the army , leave and then expect the state to provide for them for the rest of their lives

yes chico, PTSD,,,, not long ago it was rare, unheard of, where it was seen, and experienced, most families coped with it privately, PRIDE,, SELF RESPECT, was more important than whining on about ptsd,, i had a next door neighbours son , was ex jap pow, met a few , worked with a couple, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A JAP POW WITH PTSD, now the fact is chico, i would say 100% of those poor bastards had PTSD or fucking worse, the next fact is they would rarely talk about it never mind fucking whine about it. i put that down to pride and self respect.. shove your bullshit up ur arse chico and tell em to get some self respect... over and out.

I know more about PTSD than you do Yaso and that's a fact. When a soldier serves he contributes to a regimental fund. That fund is there to be used for various things and one of them is getting financial help when an ex member falls on hard times. As far as I know this guy's regiment still exists so that's where he should be getting help. Could well be he has had help from them. We will never know.

Pragmatic a couple of years ago Chas and I had a debate about PTSD and you didn't have a clue then, so what happened between now and then.?

Whilst you at it lets hear what you know about regimental funds and their pension schemes.

From what I can make out, you believe they're not entitled to housing and counselling is that correct.?

I read the article it didn't say anywhere that he had post traumatic anything.

Currently I'm leaning in this direction.

Some people join the army , leave and then expect the state to provide for them for the rest of their lives
The man in question has been cared for by the state since the age of 15? So maybe part of the benefits-generation(s)

Every piece of news these days seems to be about "woe is me" people.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all
Those who cannot change their mind, cannot change anything.
