What's the betting he puts a "No Parking" sign outside his drive.

I believe the common protocol in Thailand is to park as circumstances dictate, but to leave the car in neutral so that people can roll it to one side. If you left it in 'park', you broke the protocol.

If due to some technical reason you had to leave it in 'park', you should have left your mobile #

We can't leave our Mercedes in N and remove the key.

We also don't park in a place that might need to move the car.
