Friend's father missing in Hua Hin

Not sure if this is the correct area of the forum, but here goes. A friend's father has gone missing in Hua Hin. Here are the details from a FB page.

IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NEWS - Can you help? The photo is of Michael O'Brien, a Hua Hin resident who has allegedly gone missing. His family is desperate to find him. If you have any information that might help locate Michael please share with us here so that we can pass on. Thank you. #live#local#radio

This is takes from the Surf 102.5 Facebook page

His daughter is obviously beside herself with worry and wants it shared as much as possible. She also wants her dad's car details to be known

Hope I'm not breaking any rules here sharing this.

Now if it was a young backpacker on a Gap holiday the advice would be that they will reappear after disappearing with a lady.
At his age and status, it's more than likely that good news will not be forthcoming.

    From Surf 102FM:
We can confirm today that Michael O'Brien has been found. He is being held in an immigration detention centre in Bangkok. He was picked up due to a 200+ day overstay. Sadly Mike apparently went quickly into Alzheimer's and this contributed to a series of problems, including not giving permission for the detention centre or the US Embassy to contact anyone. His family has been notified and is making plans to come over and take him back home.Thank you to everyone who has helped to try and track Michael.

Play nice, his daughter is aware of this thread and probably reading it. It's a nasty, nasty disease that I wouldn't wish on anyone. One of my mum's mates got it at the tender age of 43- early onset.

Yeah, makes me wonder if retirement in the tropics is the wisest move, but then I think of the dystopian nightmare of Crewe and its dimwitted, perma-scowling Brexiters and I feel willing to chance it.

It's also not a disease that you "go into quickly", be real.

I don't give a fuck what his daughter reads, if he had Alzheimers already someone should have been checking his visa.

It was probably not proper Alzheimers, but something similar like vascular or fronto-temporal dementia.....which can come on rapidly, as far as I know, after something like an infection. Those not in the know often use these terms interchangeably.

Autoimmune neurological disorders and paraneoplastic disorders are also conditions that can cause rapidly progressive dementia.

^ Recalcitrant smokers are also at high risk of vascular dementia, due to the resultant constriction of all capillaries.

Yes, I've been studying, on account of my unfortunate condition.
