Do you mean the IT and investment expert who used to post here?
It looks OK from the outside except for one thing - the big "Sex Tourists Not Welcome" sign. They say they welcome families but imagine trying to explain that sign to your kids.
Anyway, it's handy for the Calvary Baptist Church if that's your thing. Only 25 metres away.

the fact that the venereal Dr knows what a catamite is, we can safely assume his dad was one, and his everyone always assumed he was the product of a german boffing a thai bargirl. !
Stayed there in 99 when the joiner fee for whores was 104 baht, the tarts hated it cos no tv and no lift either. Had a room at the back over looking the express way, hard to sleep so moved to a 'suite'. Looked like it had not changed since it was built in 1952 but the old bloke was a decent sort, unlike his tosser son Basil Fawlty I think it is. Got in touch last year asking if we could go in for a meal as the vegetarian selection used to be good- NO only for those staying. They used to have film nights when people who had flown thousands of miles to stay in the dump stayed in on a Friday night to watch lost Horizon or bridge over the river kwai.
Id be embarassed to take a couple of bargirls to that shathole. Although i bet they wouldnt ask for taxi fares on top
Thank you! I was struggling with this foggy memory of having a sexual imbroglio in this distasteful establishment in 90 something, but then wondered "how?"
I'm sure I smartened up afterwards and transplanted the shenanigans to a proper curtained drive-in shitehole beyond soi 11.
You couldn't pay me to stay there, although i have stayed at the Miami a few times.
All this nostalgia for yesterdays heyday is getting trendy
Wait til all the McBackpackers get in on this, hotels like this will have a renaissance
I'm in the closet in room 101, please send Lube Leo and lunch
How the fuck would you know?. It wasn't long ago you were canvassing this forum for a kitchen job (with a work permit as all Farangs should have 5555!) and asking advice on barfine costs. Your nothing more than a newbie sex-pest/chancer, despite your comical attempts to be otherwise
Re the OP:
Stayed there five years ago, so I can't vouch for its current condition, but on the whole I was happy with the experience. The building itself is quite nice, with broad hallways and airy common areas.
Rooms are spartan to be sure, but clean and comfortable. No television if I recall correctly. Dodgy lobby-only wi-fi. But the restaurant was good, I thought. Altogether a decent deal for the money, which was really not very much for a night bang in the middle of the capital.
(And sure, the overt, in-your-face anti-monger messaging is a bit overbearing at first, but one grows used to it quickly.
Truth is I rather like a catamite-free environment. No danger of running into Lewis Hamilton then, is there? )
Stayed there for a few times- it's charming in its own way and for the price it is a steal in the center of town. Nice pool area with hammocks and a bell to call the beer lady over. Not guest friendly but you can always get a soapy at Annies around the corner.
