    Buddhism is cruel. A moan

A couple of years back my Golden Retriever got sick. Took her to the vet. Blood test confirmed her kidneys were not working anymore and she'd stopped eating. I asked the vet to put her down. He wouldn't, and wanted to put her on a drip. I pointed out her kidneys weren't functioning and there was no way back, but he was insistent. I go back after 3 days and asked for the dog to be put down again. 'Give me 24 hours more' he asked. I agreed. 30 minutes later whilst driving home my missus gets a phone call, 'Your dog's dead can you come and collect the body?'

Yesterday my other Golden Retriever had to be rushed to the vets. She'd got like an ulcer/cancer in one of her eyes. Vet gave me some eye drops, twice a day, and told me if no better in a week to take her back and he'd remove the eye. Today her face has swollen up and she can't eat with the pain. The eye's a mess. Too graphic to show pic on here. I ask again 'can you put her down?' Reply was 'Bring her in tomorrow and I'll put her on a drip'. Here we go again.

How I sometimes really hate these fcukers.

Dunno if it's practical for you, but someone recommended this place before for humane vets.

    In Chiang Rai.

Thanks for your reply Cyrille but vets are few and far between where I live. My missus tells me that the local milk cooperative has a vet come around now and again, that could look at my dog, but he also won't euthenise an animal. So what the fcuk happens here in the event a cow gets its leg torn off in a, let's say a traffic accident? Do they just stand and hope it recovers naturally?
