    Why should I pay?

It seems that, for example, if you have a contract with 'True Vision' you have to agree to pay petrol money before they'll come out to sort out a problem regarding their equipment. When I first obtained 'True Vision' they'd come out without charging. I've tried to explain to me wife that it's their responsibility repair faulty equipment. You don't pay petrol money to TOT or the Electricity Board when we call them out. But she won't have it that we shouldn't pay. Talk about banging me head against the wall.

Had a problem once where we had a new aircon fitted. It worked okay before the engineers left but the first night it didn't. Called up the installers and they sent out the 2 men who fitted the thing. They found the gas had escaped through a leaking pipe. They repaired that but would not refill the aircon again unless I paid 500 Baht. No 500 Baht, no gas. Fcuking wankers.

In instances like this I used to get highly annoyed & try to make some kind of stand.

Now I just pay it to motivate their asses to come out and fix the shit pronto. Sometimes I actually offer to pay extra to cut the que.

Kind of a perk to living in a corrupt society IMO why not exploit it.

    I suspect they're sub-contractors but I agree it's a rort.
When you are forced to agree to paying petrol money, do they quote an amount per km? It's time to get petty with them when they are like this and insist on only paying to the exact satang.

As for the gas, that's incredible! I would have argued and insisted as it was through their mistake that the gas escaped. Take it to the top.

My wife agreed to pay the 'True Vision' petrol money but they wouldn't say when the engineers would be out. It boiled down to when they'd be in the area sorting out others.

Ok then don't pay and wait like fuck for your TV to be back online.

Ill gladly pay if it greases the wheels & gets them there faster and gets my stuff working. Its like $15 bucks. Not even worth stressing over.

Seems to be a 300 Baht charge. I said to the missus that's fooking ridiculous if they're within the area and passing by anyway. But

But we're not. They said they'll wait until there are a number of problems within our area before attending.

Without my missus taking it to the first stage I'm fcuked and she won't say anything. She gets embarrassed if she has to complain.

    Id still pay.

Other option would be to keep calling your towns True office and pushing the issue, or going higher and call "Head Office" but we all know that will do nothing but aggravate & waste time. 300 baht is nothing, and the time wasted making calls is more valuable to me than 300 baht.

Baksheesh. Kick a few bucks to get some good service. Same as tipping but up front instead.

When we bought a new stove, it left soot on the bottom of the pots. Wife rang the shop (HomePro) who got in touch with the service agent. They said they'd send a guy (free of charge) but he'll be a few days as he has to come from BKK.
Next day, something in the back of my mind reminded me about adjusting the venturi. Google for details and hey presto, had it fixed in a few minutes. Asked my wife to ring the service agent to cancel..too late, he was already in Hatyai that afternoon. Never mind, he said, he's got several jobs in the city, he didn't come just for us.

I got TrueTV installed about 4 months ago, what ever the top package is fed to 2 TV's.

was a free install first month free deal, was awesome.

first month went and gone and so the second, no bill arrived.

Then they cut me off, called em up and asked why we got cut and the response was I never paid the bill, told em I never got the bill to pay and they replied maybe they have the address wrong and I should come into the office to confirm address and pay the bill to re-connect.

    told em to get fucked.

Amusingly my True internet bill arrives every month like clockwork and just last week they came an upgraded me to fibre for free.

so if anyone wants 2 True PVR's ive got em in the drawer !

Prag I don't know where your home is, but I had to get True to my place in Jomtien about 6 weeks ago after overnight storm wind blew the dish on the roof out of whack. Started getting a blank screen and error message about no connection available (the one we all get when there's thick cloud overhead) but the sky was clear. Mrs Worx called them, 2 guys came 2 days later and fixed it.

No charge, she just had to sign a piece of paper saying the issue was resolved.

Have you thought about calling True and asking them instead

You should know by now that Thais don't like to confront each other with trivial matters such as asking for directions, refunds or where the bum gums are located.

You shouldn't. 90% of the time you can fix TrueVision yourself. Not rocket science. You have 2 TVs. Are both not working? If neither work you have a cable problem. Check the cable connection at attennae. If that looks ok, check connections at the splitter. If ok, either splitter is bad or the wee preamp on the attennae is bad. A bit of trouble shooting and you can fix it yourself.

In any case, call True and tell them you will not pay gas money full stop. If they insist, cancel. There are other options now.

Regarding your air con, no way I would pay for gas refill as it was clearly an installation problem. Buying anything from Homepro or other national shops is best avoided. 9 times out of 10 you will get this sort of BS. I always buy from a smaller shop. Might pay a bit more but you will not get this kind of BS as you will be speaking with the owner. Not some clerk at Homepro.

Simple solution. Tell her not to fret. You will take care of it yourself.

3BB had to come out once.

10 minutes later got a follow up phone call from their customer service checking that we weren't asked to pay anything.

Well we got True Fiber TV and the 300 Mb fiber line installed with platinum package. Talked to the wife and they didn't charge for install or anything. They also had to come back out for a repair as a storm knocked the line off. No TV or Internet. She said they didn't charge for gas. Just came out and fixed it.

Whats the actual issue with your TV thats having you contact True for a repair?
