    shaving, electric or blade?

Does anyone on here use an electric shaver, and if so are they any good?

I use some super duper 5 bladed beasts that are great for a few shaves but cost a far kin fortune.

I'm wondering if it's worth buying a decent leccy shaver?

I use triple blades from Tesco mini store. 49B for two. Last a couple of weeks each. Oh and regular soap. Used to have a hi-tech Italian? foil electric razor but when the foil broke I was in Indonesia!

2 bladed bic without any stupid lube strip and it lasts several weeks - can re sharpen on your jeans

I have to shave every day for work - just use regular soap in the shower - no mirror required

    I pluck my pubes...

    Shaving is for girls...and pooves

Kidding...fancy mach 5 or somfing. Need 5 blades to handle my bum fluff..

Good thread this...was thinking to buy an electic shaver, presume they wouldn't provide such a close shave, but I like the designer stubble look anyway

I've used both. I had a Phillishave with 3 rotary heads, and a button on the side that released moisturiser. It worked fine until I ran out of the little sachets of moistuiser.

Due to the cost of multi bladed swivel head razors and blades, I'm contemplating a return to electric.

I'm hoping it will also be kinder to the nether regions too. In tropical humidity, it is better to go clean shaven down below, for hygiene and comfort reasons. Does this make me a metrosexual who is prone to the gay?

Yer right there. Due to the ridiculous high price of blades, and the fact I hate shaving, I have now grown a full set. Only wish I'd done it years ago.

Not a lot o people know this...........A single gillette Mach 3 blade lasts for 6 years. Just rub the blades on a pair of jeans.

I tried it with 'Fusion Proglide'. Didn't find any difference. Tried a few other methods but they too didn't really make any difference.

Don't need jeans bros...after your shave, stroke the razor up your arm, the hairs on your arm will re-sharpen your blade.

Been discussed before on another thread...As well as the jean-stropping method...

Fooking arseholes keep adding blades...You knew it was going to happen...

But the double-blade beginning was a good start...Then it tripled, quadrupled, pivoted, vibrated and did everything but bugger yer neighbour...

    What're they up to? 5 now?...Heh...

And hers has a thrust setting...

I've got a double (somewhere), a triple, a fiver...and an electric. Why limit yourself?

'Course I shave more than my face.

Yep, all the same here. Although I don't bother sharpening.

I have a rechargeable water-proof one (Phillips, I think)....used to use it all the time but not since coming to Thailand. No complaints with electric or battery.

I should add...In the shower, normal soap, lather it up on my pubes. Gets to be a great foam.

errr....no. It's a little too bony and scarred to go full potato, however.

Gillete Blue- cheap and cheerful and gets the job done with a decent foam. I also need to be clean shaven for work. Beards = gangster or even worse, a Rohinga in these parts. Have to say I love growing my beard out in the hols.

i shave every day, if we go out in the evening then i shave again as i am quite manly and swarthy. i dont like the scruffy unshaven look and beards are so pretentious and mainstream now. it cant be long before they go out of fashion again.

i use gillette proglide blades, a palmolive shaving soap stick and a shaving brush to work up the lather. the blades are expensive, but each blade lasts for around 3 months.

in bangkok, there used to be a chinese barber in an alley near chinatown that did shaves with an cutthroat sharpened on a leather strop, those shaves lasted 2 days and cost 10 baht. he shaved the forehead and ears too and gave a head massage as well. its almost impossible to find that old fashioned service now, although some barber shops out in the sticks may still do it.

electric razors are for the lazy i'm afraid. they are expensive and do a poor job.
