    Apparently Chinese men !

I'm not a hairy guy, but it does sometimes tickle in there when I lie down on that side.

I tried this when I got older and ear hair started to tickle. When I lit it I could not see a flame and thought I had not lit it properly.

Then with the sudden burning sensation, came the simultaneous knowledge :

    1) Metho burns with an almost invisible flame.

I saw a doco of a guy travelling. When he was in Turkey he went for a cut-throat shave at a barber. The barber had a cotton swab on a stick and dipped that in meths and lit it. He just dabbed at the ear hairs and got all of them in a fraction of a second. I don't think I'd apply the meths directly!

I had a shave and haircut in Turkey some years ago - metal pipe cleaner type affair with cotton wool dipped in some fluid and then lit and removed all hair from ears - guy was great, cut throat razor a real pro.

Lol. All this talk about hair in the ears reminds me of my dad. When he got older, he developed hair inside his ears and would ask me to remove them using tweezers. When I moved into my own apartment, he would wait for the day when I would visit and ask me to do it. My mom didn't have the patience to do it. 55 As he aged, his ear hair turned grey too, so it was harder to pluck. His eyebrow hair grew longer too, and I would sometimes trim it. I miss my dad (RIP), but I don't miss those grooming duties. 55

For his shaving, he didn't have a full beard. He had only a mustache and hair on his chin. He wasn't very hairy - no chest hair or visible hair on forearms. For his shaving, he had this old fashioned steel razor. The top could be flipped open and the single blade could be replaced. He always used Gilette blades, prolly 10 pesos at that time.

Yep, same here. Had a lit hemp rope put up my nostrils to get all the nasal hair too. That was a bit unsettling.

The thread is deteriorating. Next we'll have ENT on here posting a photo of his ear wax collection.

I have gone back to using Gillette Sensor blades, as the Fusion blades are crazy expensive, and in my opinion, not worth the money. If I can, I buy them when I visit the UK, as the UK ones seem to last longer. [I can't get more than 6 or 7 shaves out of the Thai blades, but the UK ones go for 10 shaves or more].

Been thinking about getting a single blade safety razor, as these things are meant to give a really close shave. [Little scary though].

^Do you have a desperate Dan chin wth bristles made from iron filings, or a face like a deep pan pizza?

I need to shave daily, but I get 30 or more shaves out of Gillette multi blades, without home remedy sharpening.

Bought a pack of 4 Fusion Power blades just yesterday at Big C Extra, no change from 850 Baht these days which is fucken obscene considering they probably cost 19 cents to make .

One or more people mentioned using plain soap instead of cream/gel in this thread which is a good tip, works the same or better than Gillette Gel (which is also stupidly priced) and won't run out of gas while there's still plenty left in the can. Had that happen recently, hence having to try the soap method and immediately knowing I'd been wasting money on shaving gel for years....

I was using the expensive fusion things and like others got pissed off with the price! so bought a cut throat razor, learnt how to sharpen it never did learn how to shave with the evil bastard thing though! Back with the expensive fusion things again, now, yes they are expensive but there is far less blood involved!

Damn! I wish I got that many shaves out of my Gillette blades -- would save me a lot of money if I did. Going to sound like a pansy, but I've got pretty sensitive skin. More 6 or 7 shaves with the Thai blades, and my face gets cut to ribbons.

I haven't used soap on my face for years as it dries your skin which can lead to wrinkles, apparently.

    Sorry Dickwee

Blades all the way... I use those 5-blade heads from Watson chemist and they are always having n offer IE 2 for 1 or second one half price. They are not expensive to start with.

No need for the expensive brand name... go with 'Waassan'.. you know it makes sense...

    I've never understood shaving.
Such a complete waste of time.
Other than when Her Majesty enforced it for a few years I've always preferred a healthy facial growth.
