Brit tourist, 43, arrested while ‘rampaging naked through Cambodian city

A BRIT tourist has been arrested after allegedly rampaging naked through a city Cambodian city while attacking people with a baton.
Jon Williams, 43, from Lambeth, south London, was found yelling incoherently at villagers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Tuesday night.

Officers arrived and handcuffed the holidaymaker who had ''flipped out'' after an apparent argument with his girlfriend Georgia Grant who had been travelling with him.

They also gave him a set of clothes following his arrest.

Jon is now being detained at a police station in the Tuol Kork district of the city ''for his own safety'' while police investigate the incident which happened at 9.40pm.

Jon's son, Dennie, 18, who has been trying to get in touch with his dad, said today he was ''worried sick''.

He said: ''My dad had been travelling with his girlfriend but they had an argument then he went off alone. He's been on a downward spiral since that.

''The police found him naked in the street but he had already been robbed twice and lost his phone, money and passport. I think the third time he was robbed and somebody stole his clothes. It's not like him to just strip naked.

''He could have been drunk or he could have had his drink spiked, I don't believe he would have taken drugs but he might have done. Something has happened for him to just flip out.

''Right now we're just worried sick and we can't get in touch with him. We've contacted the foreign office and the embassy but they haven't been able to help.

''The most we know is that he has been arrested and detained for his own safety. We just want him home and safe.''

Dennie said that Jon arrived in the country last Saturday and had planned to travel to neighbouring Thailand.

But it is not known if he will return home or when he will be released by the police

Hong Than Sethika, who witnessed the incident, said: ''Yesterday I saw him naked and he tried to fight people who passed in front of him with a baton.

''Then the police came and arrested him. I was there too. They asked what is his name ? And he answer his name is Jon... from London.''

A report from police in Cambodia said the British man was ''suspected of being under the influence of drugs'' and found naked in the street.

It added: ''The man was arrested by police at night at 9:40 pm on September 5, 2017, along Street 156, near Mong La, located in Teuk Laak II commune, Toul Kork district.''

An officer at the Tuol Kouk police station said today onlookers at restaurants in the area had ran away from the tourist and called police.

They added: ''The British man was in the street and had the baton in his hand. He was waving it at people and trying to fight them.

''Police forces arrived to intervene to stop the British man. He did not listen to the police and ran away into cars that passed by.

''He was sent to the Teuk Laak 2 Police Station and has been detained for questioning.''

Toul Kork is not the cleverest area to flip out.

TK hoes were $1 a pop many moons ago, maybe $3-5 by now; anyone know how damaging inflation has been?

When I was visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Cambodia there were a couple of young Brits there, walking around with their shirts off drinking beer and talking loudly.

I'll never forget that. It was fucking disgraceful.

What a nasty bunch of posters we have on TD .
A Brit guy gets robbed twice of all his possessions and maybe even the clothes that he was standing in . He may have been drugged .
His only defence is to arm himself with a baton to fight off any more attackers .
No compassion, sympathy or concern about his plight .
If you would have seen him in that state , would you have tried to help him, or kick him when he was down ?
No doubt that you would have run away, had he got up again
Some of you guys calling him a "low-life" and much more lowly than he is .
A guy is down and could do with some help
"Shall we help him up again "
Nah, lets kick him when hes down
What has become of some of you ?

I'm guessing while reading the report you skipped over the bit where it stated it was him attacking people with a baton. Random people while marching down the street off his head. Doesn't really qualify for my sympathy vote.

Why do you think that hes a chav and low life ?
Why would you hope that I would walk by and "intervene"?

It does state that the attacks were "verbal" and its doesnt state that he actually hit anyone with the baton .
He had just been attacked twice and robbed of all his possessions , maybe even all his clothes as well .
Going by the state of him, he took quite a beating .
To fend off any more attacks, he may have armed himself with a baton
    A self defence mechanism .
I have read a few reports of people getting attacked there , going for help and then getting attacked again .
He may have gone back and tried to find his attackers ?
Or you you think that he just decided to take all his clothes off, get a baton and go around randomly attacking people ?

It says that he "tried too"
It doesnt say that he actually hit anyone
He could well have been sending the message that if anyone tries to attack him again, he will fight back

It is easy to identify the scum from the pictures of the bloke, his girlfriend and his son.
The description of his actions, and the state of him post arrest speak volumes. He is typical Brit low life chav scum.
Your feeble white knighting won't change that, and you are probably the last person on this forum qualified to comment.

    Interesting .
Do explain as to how you feel that they are "chav scum" just by looking at their photo?
What from the photo leads you to that conclusion ?
He had just been robbed and attacked, how would you expect him to look .
He is from the same area in London that the guy who fought back against three terrorists comes from .
