Thread: Quick 90 Day report, Car insurance faffery!

Rant first, but insurance dealt with the issue. Just curious:

That had to be the quickest 90-day report for me, ever. Tickets started at number 6 and I had number 8. 10 Mins and done. Or so I thought!

Off I walk back to the car wondering how I'm going to kill the next 4-5 hours. An adventure ride on my bike perhaps? Read a book, continue my BBQ build or have a blast on Crysis 3, A game I've only just been made aware of.

I make my way down the slopes from the exit/entrance to the car parking slots opposite, on the main road. Reverse out of the slots, make the U-turn to pass the slopes going up and down to the immigration entrance and some numpty drives into the side of me.

I knew it was coming when I saw the first car pull out who had plenty of time do so, while noticing at the corner of my eye the other driver being the typical sheep and following the car in front without bothering to stop and check. Likely she was on her phone.

I get out and ask the silly cow why she didn't stop. She said my fault for driving too fast. Just looking at her face, I knew she neither had insurance or a licence and looked the type to be searching for a better boyfriend with more cash. Just my assumption.

Checked my car, and every panel scratch with the two doors being creased.

Insurance comes and checks the photos and can see she crossed two lanes, almost 90 degrees, trying to make her way around the sign that closes the first lane. She was having none of it. I guess farang in new car blah blah blah.

We all go to police station and the rozzers look at photos and smile. They proceed to ask for her side of the story. The nutmeg claims I was doing 90kph!

The bobby then asks her how long she thinks it takes for my vehicle in seconds to reach that speed. And do you realized the U-turn isn't far enough away for him to make that speed. The people waiting behind us laughed. I have never seen a person turn so white before with the sheer loss of face.

She refused to sign the police report explaining she was at fault.

That aside, what is the legal situation for driving without insurance? I know it is done, but technically, like the UK, should the vehicle not be on the road?

The only thing that protected her from my understanding is that the incident took place on private property. All though we are covered and will not lose out on future claims, our insurance company, presumably, has to recover the costs from her. If she claims she has no money, despite working at the immigration as she was surrounded by what looked like work colleagues, what can they do?

I don't really care too much, but she said she doesn't claim responsibility. Which is obvious if she drives without insurance. These people, regardless of their financial situation piss me off.
