It has gone down the pan as well and will be even more so, can't buy a drink when you want, 10 years for vapping, 15 for laughing a t a certain dog, always an alien, insane driving and surrounded by idiots. Home has a lot to be said for it in the end.

    Depends where home is/was.

For me, home was Leicester in the UK. I don't want to go back to Leicester and cos of the weather, immigrants, taxes, chavs etc, I don't want to go back to England at all.

I'll retire back to Thailand or maybe Luang Prabang in northern Laos. Nice place, nice beer and food, nice hookers.

I've been straight up with my handbag from the get go.

I've told her one day I may need to return back to Australia mainly if serious illness happens.

She knows the score. If it happens though I'll sling her a few million baht for being such a great partner.

    I will too.

    She don't know that but.

I really have no plans of going back though, i really like living in this mad arsed joint.

You can also have more than one place that feels like home ime. Home is where you feel comfortable.

But, then I was booed for having an opinion that all women are beautiful, so at times I think differently than others.. shoot me under the bus.

I've been thinking of moving to Thailand for a long time, but i'll only go for the right job/money. I've also been thinking in the future of doing a one year ED visa and studying Thai language and Muay Thai. Within five years or so, it should pan out.

Be advised, PB, that the ed-visa policy and availability isn't what it used to be - if they haven't nearly trashed it already.

I'd look into it before committing yourself to the mystical ed-visa.
There are better options if your looking to teach/reside.

^I have a friend that did it recently and it is definitely possible and not hard to do. I should have some cash in the next three to four years and then I just want to relax for awhile and enjoy Thailand and all the things I love about it. I feel guilty for wanting to just kind of take a sabbatical for a year.

I know exactly what you mean. When I'm in Canada for more than two weeks, I feel like it is a ghost town and I wonder where everyone is hiding. You get used to the madness after awhile. I shake my head a lot, but don't get angry like I used to the first year of living in China. At times I will give the finger to a driver or say fuck that under my breath, but then it is back to living it. lol

You're in for a shock, if you think "back home" (wherever that is) is universally better in those respects... some places are on the way up, some on the way down; but most places are on the way down if you are

Well, other cvnt-struck punters buy a house & land, at least they get some nice space, larger than a shoebox, to enjoy while it lasts, eh.

I totally agree Terry. I could not do the kid thing here. I came here with no Klingons in tow and was very picky that the gal I met was older and had no children from a previous marriage. This way its just us for the ride until they burn me.

Same here. I love living in this mad house. Its really never a dull moment. There is always something backwards going on and to sit back in the big chair and watch is free entertainment coupled with many laughs.

Its funny, I did not come here for women because I couldn't meet them in the states. I came here to retire and relax with a good companion and I surely wasn't going to stay here living in a 30m2 Condo, with a 30" TV, sleeping on a $100 bed with a shitbox fridge riding around in bus's eating noodle everyday.

I live out in the middle of no where, low to zero crime, great sporting community, excellent school, plenty to do, 4x4, dirt bikes, camping, fishing, boating all close by.
Only down side is winter, cost of living, longer flights from work.
Even the kids tell me they only want to visit and not live in Thailand.
Might head over xmas time for a island holiday.

That sounds more like Canada or somewhere on the south island New Zealand.
I still think everywhere has gone down the pan, though... everyone from everywhere seems to keep saying it from wherever they're from, so they must all be right, if taken as an aggregate.
