Often a water pistol or a stick, is enough to piss a dog off. Used successfully when cycling in rural areas. Urban soi dogs usually know better than the op.

Usually dogs are only vicious if you raise them like that. Pit bulls are banned in certain parts of Canada, but I think it's a shame because I've seen some sweet pitbulls.

My best mate is an American pit bull. Loyal, faithful, protective and very cute for a bitch.
This thread is more about soi dogs and those left in rural areas to protect property.

I must disagree there mate.

The type of dogs mentioned or referred to in this thread have a built in instinct and that is to protect and by the only means they know how.

My dog is brilliant but I never forget the fact he could severely injure and probably kill a person if his instincts were reminded of by threatening situations.

He is a domestic dog and had all the loving and care but when something inside cracks I would hate to see the outcome.

I think that that is because you are may be a little insecure in his presence. Relax.
I have an American Pit-Bull and it will not fight with soi dogs. It just blatantly ignores them and walks on by. As for the kids who come play with my kids, never a doubt about the kids safety.

I didn't watch the op vids. Seems pointless, like the op.

If you keep your dog locked up, and on the lead during exercise, it is unlikely to attack. Perhaps more socialization would help?

Dogs ca be a nuisance if they are allowed to run free. Attacking lone cyclist seems to be their hobby.
