Obese models: it will be the new normal soon, innit.
^In western countries, and possibly not because of PC, because it may well be normal the way it's going now
Sadly, this observant post by VocalNeal was overlooked.
FIRSTLY ... Unless (mostly) the woman is working in a service industry where the clientèle are mainly Men, mostly ... Women dress to impress other women.
Sure, your partner might don the fishnets on your birthday, but usually they will pay lip service to our thoughts on how woman dress.
They don't give a Toss what we think about the catwalk models.
Unless, of course, we start comparing our Partners to the said Models.
Although unrelated to the OP, VN makes another good point.
In a similar vein to the Thai Educational system works where almost no-one fails ...
We now live in a society where one gets a prize for participating because there should be no losers.
BTW ... I don't claim any special insights into the Female Mindset and Emotional Armour ...

Husband's tribute to his 'curvy' wife sparks backlash
A husband's Instagram post about loving his wife's "curvy" size has sparked a backlash online about body image and feminism.
American entrepreneur Robbie Tripp, who describes himself as "husband to a curvy goddess", posted a photograph of him and his wife, explaining in a popular post that becoming a feminist taught him that "curvy" women could be sexy.
"I love this woman and her curvy body. As a teenager, I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side," he wrote.
"As I became a man and started to educate myself on issues such as feminism and how the media marginalizes women by portraying a very narrow and very specific standard of beauty (thin, tall, lean), I realised how many men have bought into that lie."
"For me, there is nothing sexier than this woman here: thick thighs, big booty, cute little side roll etc."
Being fat is the result of bad health choices, unhealthy eating habits or metabolic disorders. Human society has never been perfect. Being fat/unhealthy is just icing on the cake. There is a cocktail of other social problems that are far more severe, needing serious quick answers.
I am so unlucky that if I fall into a barrel full of D*ick**s, I'd come out sucking my own thumb!
I agree.
Its a tricky situation because I believe in promoting self confidence and being proud about one's self, but parading a very fat person promotes unhealthy eating habits, so does parading stick-like figures.
I suppose acceptance, tolerance and discretion must come into play.
yep, that's the annoying part for many...Originally Posted by GracelessFawn
@david48 & vocal neal - that women dress to impress other women:
That may be true for some, but not for all. My firsr reaction to that statwment was - that's BS. Sure, some women dress or put on make up for the males of the species, but others want to look good and be confident, for THEMSELVES, for their own confidence and self esteem. I certainly don't dress for men or other women in my everyday worklife. I dress properly, because it's expected of me, in the workplace, to look presentable and professional. In most offices in SEA, there are dress codes and how you dress is related to how people treat you. (The concept of "face")
However, on a date I would dress differently, depending on how much I like the guy or what impression I wanted to give. Then the lacy bra and more feminine clothes would be out of the closet. 55
Tomcat, I think it's because some of the ppl here still haven't left the stone age.
Btw, whenever I see your posts, I always think of your words being said in a "Varys" tone. (Varys in Game of Thrones - I like his character, he's smart & crafty.) So in a roundabout way, that's a compliment.

Compliments are accepted any way you choose to send them...Originally Posted by katie23
Hey, if they are happy then I'm happy for them. If the girl is happy with who she is then kudos to her. Women can still be curvy and healthy.
People can choose who they want to be with, keep the judgements to yourself imo.
I've learned that people who judge other people and the way they look aren't happy themselves.
