    Christmas in Bangkok

The trees are up outside the malls and the chocolates are out in Villa.

Snapped up an advent calendar for the kid for 150ish bht and some candy canes to give out nearer the time.

    Also some Quality Street..

Those mince pies ain't getting touched at that price

I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

Plan to be there for Christmas myself. Visit a few old mates. No doubt will have a few meals at Timber's home. Looking forward to that for sure.

Being a Thai themed forum I don't think 'pang' is that weird.

you think those mince pies are expensive

The volleyball used as a prop in the 2000 film Cast Away has sold at auction for a staggering $308,000 (£230,000).

The film depicts Tom Hanks as a lone survivor stuck on a deserted island. The ball, which his character names Wilson, is depicted as his only friend.

The ball was originally made to look dirty, and spent a lot of time in the water during filming, according to Prop Store, the auction house that sold it.

Hanks was given an Oscar nomination for best actor in the Robert Zemeckis film.

The movie star lost out to Russell Crowe for his role in the film Gladiator.

During the film, Hanks talks to Wilson as a way to keep his sanity while struggling to survive.

Only $2 more for this one. I’m going for it.

I can't guarantee the 'portly' bit, or that I'll have full sacks for that matter, but yes... if all goes well I'll be available for a small fee this Christmas.

Villa has been almost completely sold out of Christmas stuff for weeks.

    Anyone got their tree up?

Heading to Mr.DIY tomorrow to stock up on decorations.

I was in the branch near us a couple of days ago, and you might need some glitter and glue to liven up a few sponges or summat.
