I flew with Ryan Air a month or so back - the flight time was 2hrs 15mins. They took exactly 1hr 45mins to provide me with a beverage. I was fucking livid. In fact, that was the overwhelming emotion during the whole flight - which is better than anxiety I suppose.

Have a good trip, Pats. When you coming to the UK?
I'll be going to Edinburgh at Christmas, it'll be our first without my mum. Also, hopefully, to collect my inheritance!! Terrible thing to say!!

Does anyone know how to open a UK Bank Account without being accused of money laundering? If i bring it here they will take most of it off me to pay off my debts.

My brother and his wife live in Munich, so that that will be fun. They are going to hire a car to go do touristy things, and introduce me to the beer gardens. Hope they have some decent wines.

Also, my nephew, wife and babies are passing through Geneva on their way to the South of France at the end of September. So should be a fun filled couple of months. The 10 month old is fatter than me!! He'll be a rugby player, for sure.

Don't listen to Terry, Bets, he loves Thailand so much I'm surprised he hasn't applied for the passport!!

Siam Sq has super food, beautiful woman everywhere you look and excellent shopping too...

Decided to go all intercultural and have had two verynice days. Yesterday, went to a bar with live music - 5 old Thai guys planying country music. Then I got chatting to some Africans and went to a club with an African dj and learnt how to dance African style...

Today, I've gone all Arab. Had some great food in Soi 3, got chatting with some Fellas and had a nice time.

Inbetween, did lots of work, lots of walking around town just looking at stuff and staying fit. No beer, no woman. No Luigi-ing...

Depositing a cheque from a solicitor is not going to get you accused of money laundering however great the amount. As long as have a UK address (use a relatives) and your NI number should be fairly easy only obstacle might be proof of address as won't have any utility bills or be on the electoral roll. Way round that is write to HMRC about your pension using your relatives address then will have a return letter from them and apply for a driving licence with relatives address on.

Patsy is British, with Irish origins and she lives in Geneva.

Graceless Fawn & I are Filipinas. GF lived & worked in Bkk for several years. I came upon this board while searching for info abt a former trip to Th.

Betty where are the goat pics? I remembered you during my trip to Puerto Galera as I saw a few goats that time.

They will want proof of your address in the UK,the will check electoral roll if your not registered at that address.they will check to see what address your UK driving license is registered at.If you have no proof of address you will be able to open an account bit with very limited functionality.

    Here's one for DD.

I don't why you peasants would coffee at 7/11 and starbucks when you could just do Harrods...

Of course, I do like a trip to Paragon too; and sadly for many folks' romantic ideals, this is real Thai culture nowadays...

They do a lovely lamb pie at Harrods.

Spent lots of time in the aircon spaces; preferable to Issan, imho.

Here's a shot thzt may be think of Papillion:

Really nice meal in soi 3...

I met up with an old work colleague at Paragon; with her BA, two MAs and PhD, she is nearly the intellectual equal of Twerry 56.5... I bought her over a Hanbok from Korea, and she sent me back this photo a coupke of days later.

Hamboks look very nice, imhp. My wife has several and looks fantastic in them.

Contrary to some of the morons on here who think they know what is and is not Thai... I have lived in Thailand for a very long time, and have a house in the sticks and lived the Thai life both in Bkk and the Nakhon Nowhere's.

One of the reasons I've done Bkk and western food for the lzdt 4 or 5 days is because I knew that today that was all gonna change, I am now out in the sticks for next 18 days working non-stop...

But, I wzs really lucky to find a great hotel, close to the place I'm working, and only 500 baht per night; aircon , nice bathroom, cable TV, wifi, balcony and washi machines...
