and you are a photographer - this is a device that can put your camera anywhere to get the angle , frame and shot you require ?

you can mount a dslr on the drone and I would expect you can control your dslr via wifi

Exactly. I didnt buy it to fly it. I bought it to expand my photography and video fun. Plus it has been very beneficial for looking at things from an aerial point of view.

Again though. To some they are annoyed and I believe most have this fear that everyone who has a drone is looking in their bedroom windows while the do whatever it is they do.

that seems to be the underlying gist - they are afraid of ending up on social media in a video of them jacking off the dog to feed the cat

It is 50% invasion of privacy. I was working in my secluded hinterland garden last year when some coont neighbour (I will never know who) hovers a drone over me. Friggin annoying when basic privacy in your own garden no longer exists. I used to sunbathe nude in the garden but I do not want my lovely bottom on youtube so my arse-cheeks are now vitamin D deficient.

But the other 50% is the annoying whine on the beach. They are popular toys at the beach so everyday when you are sitting listening to the waves crashing you will be interrupted at least 5 times by this whining buzzing pain ITA and girls won't go topless anymore because the drone coonts are everywhere.

Shoot the fukkers down with 20mm WWII anti-aircraft flak guns I say.

You know whats really funny about that, We are all being watched 24/7/365 by someone with a webcam, a satellite, some hidden toilet cam, wall cam etc in stores, malls, restaurants you name it. You have already probably shown up on some website, you just do not know it.

Our Privacy is long gone, has been for a long time, drones or not.

You know for me though, I would hate to see people in my videos, especially naked ones. I fly my drone as high up as I can because I do not want to see some fat fuck whacking his pud in his backward by the pool. Why I will not ever fly in neighborhoods. It's actually scary what one I might see.

I will say I think Drones should not be allowed to fly in residential neighborhoods. I know I would never own a Mavic in the California. Pointless.

True that. There are some seriously demented folks out there living behind 7 ft fences. I don't really want to know.

If someone flies a drone over your property are you legally allowed to shoot it down?
I'm thinking in terms of a reasonable air rifle.

Years ago when I was living back in the UK the shooting of pigeons was legal.
What about drones?

Let's say you own an acre of land, how high up do your rights go?

drones can up to 500m, and become literally invisible, even at 250m, and yet you can see everything on the ground

I can only speak to the US and current laws. You cannot shoot a drone down. Its in violation of FAA laws. From the local state and police if you discharge a gun in a residential neighborhood you could go to jail.

Again in the US, You only on the air space up to the legal height of your fence which is Debatable. Everything above the fence line you have no ownership rights too, all is managed and policed by the FAA.....

The Mavic is invisible at 150m, even at 100m, which quite low, shooting would be very hard as it's so small

French police around nuclear plants are using trained Eagles to stop Drones from flying over the plants

there is no way you can't stop the fucking thing, but you can catch the pilot on the ground if he is not hiding, and then shoot him

That is the thing thing with these drones. They are controlled by some sneaky fuk hiding out wherever having a good oggle at everybody's business and unable by any means to be held accountable for any kind of invasion of privacy since there is no way to know who is flying the coonting thing.

That's the funny thing with non drone owning people, they some how think all drone owners are sneaky fucks hiding out trying to sneak peaks at their ugly neighbors. Not all give a rats ass about other people but many folks seem self absorbed like they have something someone else wants to see.

Already out there Simon. They use them by airports and military bases. Some are pricey. I guess if you had a person that was really bothering you that would be the most appropriate and safe approach

So I have been lurking around the "Underground" UAV world. Just to see what people are up to. Man its a different group there for sure. I connected with a guy who linked me to a biz that has a crack for the Mavic and he sent me a vid where they flew a Mavic 2,600 ft (792m ) up. The crack deleted the limit value. Coupled with that it, the Mavic fly's up at a lightning fast speed of 22mph (35km/h). That is wicked fast. I did a nice fly this morning to check a few camera setting changes.

I think it does 70km/h in sport mode,

I had an idea last year to design and build a drone-blimp with a landing hangar for small quadcopters.

Roughly speaking, the design would be 4 weather balloons lashed to a metal mesh platform, that I could over in a protective sheet so looked a bit like a floating ROV.

On the mesh I could cable tie or ratchetstrap everything... propellers, comms, computers, cameras, lights, power system and batts etc... and of course a mini landing strip like on an aircraft carrier - probably the most challenging aspect.

It's going to take a while to design though, but something to get my boys engaged with. It's the whole vehicles sharing data with other vehicles thing that gets me excited.

To be able to go out with a large pelicase of misson control computers and coordinate multiple vehicles on a mission... all in the name of gathering scientific data, mind.

...and of course streaming that data to a browser online.

The stock climbing speed in sports mode for the Mavic is 11km/h. The hack doubles that speed. I watched a video, Its incredibly fast. I am considering the software package hack but it is pricey.

It is funny but there is also something creepy about it. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg in how much drone technology is going to invade privacy.

Some of my best shagging memories are of shags on my deck in my forest under the trees and sky. Now with knowing that neigbours have drones that kind of closes off what was once a great shagging venue.

Another problem with them is ruining ambience at beautiful locations. There are lots of nice spots along the coast to watch the sunset here in Aussie but almost every night now at these locations the sky is swarming with whining drones. They spoil the atmosphere with their noise and they are distracting hovering in the field of view with flashing green and red lights.

Come on Looper...really? Sky's full of them whizzing around flashing their lights at night and swarming? I find that very hard to believe.

With that said though I can believe that more are surfacing. However everywhere that I have flown mine, Yosemite, Napa Valley, Phuket, Koh Chang, etc I have never seen another drone anywhere and the romantic places my wife chilled out we have not seen one.

You must live in a very photographic location with lots of drone owners that want to watch you shag.
